Sleaford Mods - old rage for a new age

Are they spitting out what moz is too far off from now? Voice of the disenchanted in austerity times?
The Smiths of the NOW?

The Caesar was so 20 years ago.

Enjoy singing about the things you love.

Like crack addiction.

even crackheads, which they aren't, can speak the truth.
but look here, a liveset from salzburg:

a 'queen is dead' shirt.

cheers.

haha, always nice to have a bit of a laugh at someone else's expense.

i find the caesar a fine alternative to the bearded well-combed hipsterdom round here.
and as for the crackhead bit, i bet you were kneeled in the groin and immersed a baby's head, too, eh?

It's about the attitude, and i find a lot of the intellectual sideways glance on things ias with the smiths in them, too.

hence the smiths shirt of the wobbly one,

cheers.

Don't really see any similarities with The Smiths, other than being artistically ambitious. But I do like them.

Musically, there of course aren't any similarities. But in the stance, that 'prole art threat', which the smiths represented alongside the fall and others in the eighties, which i dearly miss in todays music, they are about the next best thing to the smiths in the eighties, their cultural impact.

A voice for the elsewise unheard.
