Def Leppard rocks. You all should quit the moping and listen to some good fun 80s music. Stop caring so much about life. I am a big gay faggot and I also have the opportunity to get on the careless and free disco train but I usually prefer butt rock. Bye.

Oh no not Def Leppard, I've seen Joe Elliot at Sheff Utd matches over the years, last time was last season at Hillsborough when we played Wednesday in the league cup. At least hearing him sing football songs was better than the awful stuff he does with Def Leppard.

  3. Def Leppard and United are made for each other. Two bunches of has-beens who have n't produced anything decent in years and who's fans still think leather jackets and mullets are the height of fashion.

    Hahahaha - that's pretty funny.

Def Lep was my first arena-rawk concert.

    I was 14.
It was at New Jersey's Meadowlands Arena.
My uncle rented my sister, friend and me a limo and he and his then-girlfriend (now wife) chaperoned us.

My love affair with them lasted about 2 1/2 years and it began sometime before Hysteria was released. I had just started getting into that style of music and had read about the awful thing that happened to Rick Allen.

What a story! Of course, I immediately sympathized with the band and, as so often happens with sympathy, it lead to feelings for- and loyalty to- the band.

It was just a phase and thank god for that.

Besides, Rick Allen is an a**hole wife-beater!

I remember I was in middle school, 8th grade, when they were popular. All the guys used to walk around with those union jack t-shirts. I was into them too, I bought the albums and sat gleefully through that "Photograph" video 100 times or more. I even went out and bought their earlier records (such a die-hard)

Here's to those moments of insanity.

  7. Guilty pleasures

That reminds me of my 8th grade experience with Twisted Sister. "We're Not Gonna Take It" could have been the school anthem that year. Thank god we learn from our mistakes.

  8. Attack of the 80s Hair Bands!!

That leads me to this question: how do you guys and gals - who were head-banging adolescents during the 80s - feel about this researgance (I know I spelled that incorrectly) of hair bands?

Personally, I am able to view once-repulsive "poseur" bands like Poison with a newfound sense of fun. Back then, if you were into "real" metal, you literally HATED those misogynistic make-up-and-Aqua Net-wearing homophobes...but now..."Talk Dirty To Me" kinda makes me roll my car windows down and turn the stereo up to 11.

Only sometimes, though; Poison is still lame.

  9. The Death of the Hair Bands

When Slash joined Michael Jackson on stage to perform "Beat It" the once mighty hair band died for good. There's no hope of ressurrection after something like that!

Wait, aren't you supposed to roll the windows UP and pretend you're listening to something else?
