while everyone is fawning over bbc radio 2 and its love of moz at the minute, i always pause to remember one of the djs comments in 99. while driving to work in nov 99 and looking forward to that evenings moz gig at leeds town and country club, that bespectacled sprite chris evans was reading out a gig list on his virgin radio breakfast show (remember moz was not very popular in the public eye at this time) as he ended the list he casualy said "oh and morrissey plays leeds, but whos bothered cos hes well past his sell by date) moz would have been 40 at this stage and the comment really annoyed me. i just hope the little git doesnt start lording over morrissey now to fit in with the radio2 wave of popularity.

To be fair he hadn't released an album for two years, and he hadn't release a critcally popular album for five years.

How was anyone (Morrissey included I suspect) to know he'd have a second wave of his career?

People are allowed to change their minds you know, I know I do about a million times a day. Especially when it comes to pop culture.
