May 22nd Birthday Show...

5+ year long troll here, and my first message on the board isn't very monumental -- sorry

First off, I am sorry for ANYONE who's traveled to a show on this tour or any other tour, to find out that the show has been canceled. I can't imagine the feeling, as I've been fortunate enough to have never had this happen at any concerts I've attended.

I am traveling from Ontario, Canada to Manchester, England to see Morrissey for the very first time. I've had chances before, but due to cancellations and/or work schedules... I've always been unable to attend.

We're well over the $2500 mark now between flights, hotel and ridiculous ticket prices on eBay for this gig... the recent news of cancellations this week has me a bit worried, but there is time for Moz to recover.

Now, my question... Where are you coming from to see this show? I can't imagine that we're the furthest away -- surely there are others coming from abroad and spending insane amounts of money in hopes that the show will go on?

Hope Moz feels better soon... like... May 22nd soon... LOL

and my sister thinks I'm crazy coz I want to travel from one side of Greece to the other (I'll be in Greece in July anyway) to see Morrissey for the second time (I saw him in Glasgow too) and I need to spent money on hotels and transport.

I think he is gonna be fine by the 22nd. I don't think he would want to dissapoint his fans especially the day of his birthday. I'm sure Morrissey will also be looking forward to this day and he would not want to miss it. he's got time to recover anyway.

My friend and I will be coming from San Diego, California to see the two Manchester shows and the Salisbury one. No idea right now how much I've spent (and will spend ) on this trip, but it's going to be fun!! I just hope if Moz is still a little sick, he'll still show up, maybe sit on stage in a robe and drink tea in front of us for 2 hours. Hey, it's better than nothing...I'll take what I can get!

I'm only in Birmingham so it's not too far but I'll actually be travelling from Leeds on the Saturday morning because we're going up there to see my boyfriend's favourite band (Cursive) so it's only going to take an hour on the train!
