And was it because (if only a teensey weensey bit) you were inspired by someone in particular?

I had a Vegetarian Roll at lunchtime. It didn't make any noise, let alone call.
Ba-Dum-Tish!
Anyhoo - I don't eat meat because I never liked it, simple as that. I feel a bit of a fraud in here when people are vegetarians for moral reasons, which I totally buy in to, but that's not how I started. As I've said before, the way meat gets to consumers these days is a disgrace.

Morrissey has opened up the ideas of vegetarianism for me. I certainly didn't do it for him. I credit him and all the other fans here with making me aware and for that I am very grateful. I never really liked meat much; I always liked lighter fare. Actually a few years ago, I used to buy a whole chicken, and the idea of splitting it up into parts made me ill. I see vegetarianism as a process, just like quitting smoking, if you go cold turkey, most likely you will not succeed. There is nothing about vegetarianism that doesn't make good sense.

I don't eat meat because I don't want to be guilty of the needless killing and mistreatment of animals, for I love animals.
I also don't like the taste or texture of meat or fish. ...![]()
TO BE YOURSELF, IN A WORLD THAT IS CONSTANTLY TRYING TO MAKE YOU SOMETHING ELSE, IS THE BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT !!
And who stopped eating meat for purely moral reasons, although they LOVED it?
And I heard so many things I failed to understand at all
Meat is good![]()
I've been a strict vegetarian for almost a decade now (I started when I was a freshman in high school). I did it--and continue to do it--for purely moral reasons. I do not believe that we should needlessly take the lives of other living creatures in order to eat them, when we have so many other options available. There is enough suffering in the world as it is--I don't think that we should cause more, when we have the choice not to. Killing for pleasure--whether that means deer hunting, fishing, or eating a steak--is, in my mind, horrifying, and inexcusable.
To be honest, EPBabe, I don't remember whether I really liked eating meat or not. At one point I did, I suppose, before I really realized what meat was, and where it came from. Now, of course, the very thought of eating it again nauseates me.![]()
Once the mad cow shit kicked in, I thought.... I'm bailing out.......
