the best song of 2001

that's a good song

and their drummer's a hunk! woof!!

> for me is "chop suey" from System of a down. And for you?

> "I cry when angels deserve to die"

You tell me, toughguy!

WRONG! It is "Mr. Proper has the hots for Fabricio, but Fabricio doesn't go that way. Fabricio has kids, and is sort of married, so Proper go back to Scotland cause the sheep are lonely" or you can make it easy and buy Old Dirty Bastard's new "best-of" cd.

Which one are YOU picking?????

Re: You tell me, toughguy!

Hey sh.itstain,I'm not from scotland, you are from your mom's anus(which we already knew),you su.ck di.ck(which we already knew as well). No one here cares about you don't you get it? trying to be me or like me is not something that you can do. Now,trying to be the whore your mom is is something entirely different and takes practice. Practice I'm sure your used too? There's nothing wrong with your mom being the slutbag she is,unless she stops giving it up to me,then we have a major problem on our hands. Tell your mom I said thanks!!!

Re: the best song(s) of 2001 IMHO

a tough one.

My favourites this year would be the two B&S singles, "Jonathan David" and "I'm Waking Up To Us", as well as "When Angles Play Their Druma Machines" by Hefner (from 'Dead Media') as well as "Scottish Pop" by Spearmint.

I'm Waking Up To Us from belle and sebastian is the second best song of 2001 in my opinion. I am tough but i still have some sensibility...

Ah yes STW, that Hefner track, number 4 of the "Dead Media" cd is a winner. My fav on the album.

2001: the year i turned off the radio

i like "Greek Song" and "Grey Gardens" by Rufus Wainwright.

"last nite" the strokes

You must really like your mom, Proper.

What did your mom do to you when you were a child that makes you fixate on her so much? With proper medicine and treatment from a Psychiatrist, you should see improvement within 60 days. Tell your mom to get out her social security card and medicade card and get you to a doctor.

Please, don't attack me, but I love "summerfling", "extraordinary thing" (KD Lang), and "She's in fashion" (Suede)...

Anything by Goldfrap, a real pleasant suprise in an overall very bland year yet again, ridled with nu metal bollox.

yes somnium, people here use to attack people that have different tastes.

i don't know these songs you quoted so i won't attack you!

just kidding... i am one that is always attacked because of my musical taste...

I did watch a show of Kd Lang, and I was amazed when she started to sing "Crying". As you know, I love Roy Orbison, and her performance is something really touching. The next day I did run to my local record store, and I have found her last album, named "Invincible Summer". Believe me, my friend, she is the most charming, beautiful creature, and her voice is something unbelievable!!!! This album is like a breeze on your fronthead, like the soft scent of flowers, like the friendly light of sun in the morning. yesterday, I saw her video for "summerfling", and definitivelly I'm in love with her! She was listening to The Mamas and the papas, and brazilian music when she composed the songs for "Invincible Summer". As for "Head Music" (Suede), this is pure, old, nice rock'n roll. You can feel a kind of 70's atmosphere, some of glamour rock, some of Bowie, some of T Rex. MAN, this IS soooooooo good to listen VERY LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In portuguese, we could translate head music "música cabeça", but I have found an article that explains the title, and actually this would be something like "música sacana, ou alguma coisa relacionada a sexo"...

Oops!!... should i hide my Madonna collection? However, I found very awful her new show "drowned world"... there is a chance that Madonna comes to south america, but I'm sure you won't be there, since you don't like her, right?

Somnium

.Invincible Summer is an incredible album, and kdlang has a fine, fine voice. Lovely looking, too.

I saw the Drowned World tour in Earls Court.... and was majorly disappointed. The view was abysmal, her choice of tracklisting strange to say the least.

Re: Indeed

I did watch on HBO, and I thought: God, what kind of thing is that??... the show seems like a bad taste monster, and when she sang those coutry music, playing very bad her acoustic guitar, I didn't know if I should cry of laugh. When she played "the ninja", jumping and flying, I simply laughed. The clothes are horrible (blame jean P Gautier). Well, She simply destroyed everything and looks awful. Unless "the girlie show" had a lot of charm, and an involving sex appeal. She is so boring now.

The ninja bit...

...was actually VERY impressive live - virtually the only bit I did like.

And the clothes....hmmm.... I quite liked the clothes even (I think she used JPG and Dolce & Gabbana for this tour).

It was her choice of songs, and the way she did them - virtually all acoustic - that spoilt the show.

And I still think she has something to give. Love her or loather her, she's still one of the few female artists who actually tries something different. The charts are full of bland, boring females - Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Saline Dion, Destinys Child, Aaliyah, etc etc etc..... at least Madonna's discovered that France is producing some incredible talent of late......

'Music' wasn't another Ray of Light, but it was good enough in parts.

She's In Fashion came out in 1999.

It's a great song though. It was my song of the year in '99. The perfect summer anthem.
