I can't believe it... I've just seen Johnny Marr live on stage in Manchester.

My brother rang me up tonight asking if I would like to go see the Charlatans live at the Manchester Arena, I'm not their biggest fan but I thought it would be great to go for a few drinks and see a gig with him. After they played The Only One I Know, I thought it probably wouldn't get any better until Tim Burgess announced out of nowhere "ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Johnny Marr". My brother was just going for a pee and he spun round and looked at me in totl disbelief thinking we'd both heard it wrong and Johnny comes out, cool as you like with his guitar strapped on and plays three songs with them. As I'm not their biggest fan, I wouldn't be able to say what they were playing but it was absolutely amazing. We are both massive Smiths disciples and this was like God appearing for us. Ten minutes before the concert started we were discussing how great it would be to see Johnny Marrs' Healers when they come to town and this just totally threw us into shock. It was a good concert for the Charlatans but Johnny got a serious welcome from his hometown crowd and that was the pinnacle for us. Cosmic!!!

I'm sorry to have upset you but I can never ignore his role in Morrissey's life and vice-versa and plenty of true fans are interested in such trivia. You may not like his music, or even him but your comment is shallow. Don't be an idiot! I love morrissey...WITH THE SMITHS! Johnny Marr was the Smiths. The Mozzers best solo stuff(Viva Hate) is nowhere near as good as The Smiths poorest album (Meat is Murder) which, is a brilliant album musically. Especially Johnny's work on How Soon is Now? and the Headmaster Ritual. I mean lets face it Johnny was the musician and worked the boards and knew what he was doing when it came to the production aspect of the band. Look at Morrissey on their best album(Strangeways) all he could do was tinkle with the piano keys. The Smiths are my favorite band and it pains me to see poetry loving Morrissey fans who say Johnny Marr sucks. They just happened to be great together like Jagger/Richards or Page/Plant
