Being 17 years young, the first Album in 1984 was a little bit strange for me. I liked "Inbetween days" by The Cure, but Guitar-Music wasnīt my focus. Human League, Heaven 17, Spandau Ballet - these were the bands for me and my friends.
So I only recorded 3 of the songs from the debut on Cassette. I didnīt like Morrissey Voice very much. The LP "Meat is murder" I was also aware of, but it took me one more year and finally "Bigmouth" did it for me. This song was the break-through and I bought everything which was released so far. The rest ist history :-) So Iīm a 23 year long fan, being 42 years old nowadays.
Greetings from Germany.

2005. I was 19 and a friend, who was a die hard Morrissey fan, lent me the two disc Smiths Best Of and 'You Are the Quarry'. The latter is what cemented my fandom. I just wish that it had happened earlier.![]()

If I had to pinpoint it, 1990 and Bona Drag.![]()
2004. I feel like a proper little nooooooob now. To be fair, though, I was 16 at the time and I do come from Devon. It's hard to get into decent music under those circumstances...

At least you had people to get you into The Smiths - I had to basically do it for myself![]()
