    Oh please...

Blackadder, Only Fools And Horses, Fawlty Towers, Bottom, The Young Ones, Dad's Army.

Oh and Peep Show. Easily the best British sitcom in recent years.

I love them! I grew up watching them! The Young Ones, Some Mothers Do Ave Them, Blackadder and Allo Allo. I watched these four series in my teens. They were broadcasted on the autonomic catalan channel. My favourites were the first two ones.

Steptoe & Son, Porridge, Citizen Smith, The Carry On's, Bless This House, On The Buses, Hi De Hi, Rising Damp, Please Sir......

All classic comedies about working class life.....
then the Good Life and To The Manor Born came around and all of a sudden every comedy went middle class.... and far, far less funny and even less relevant.....

what, so you're saying that comedy should be restricted to social class?
i think you're very much mistaken - british comedy is based upon the observation and deconstruction of character across all social classes. saying that a comedy that appeals to the working classes is more relevant than one that appeals to the middle and upper classes is ridiculous and ignorant.

it takes a middle class northerner to state this....but as a journalist you must have your finger on the pulse of modern popular culture.

You might enjoy these: the royale family, "Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps", Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights.....did you only watch the parts of 'keeping up Appearances" when Onslow was on the screen? How about 'Open all Hours" or was it because he was a shop keeper, means it wasn't working class enough!

Till Death Us Do Part (oh that was working class....but set in London, doesthat count?), ever hear of 'shelley" with his avoidance of obtaining gainful employment (is that working class enough?).

Still, i enjoyed recently, Lead Balloon and Outnumbered (which has very funny observations on family life (shamefully, middle class so juke box won't like it), the kids are really funny!
