If it's not Morrissey, why bother ?
I feel you in my heart and I don't even know you.
i've heard from people that saw morrissey at the eagles ballroom in milwaukee in 2004 that it's a great venue. know nothing about ann arbor. i'll probably be at both so see you sometime![]()
You can have both
Treat yourself.
I almost considered Milwaukee, too. But there is no way my budget would allow for 3 concerts. It barely allows for 2. Damn economy.
The Michigan Theater is a pretty good venue. I would consider the first 5 rows of the balcony to be better seats than some of the back of the main floor seats, if physically touching Morrissey is not on your to-do list. The Ann Arbor show was the first to sell out on the last tour so you can't dawdle, especially since it appears to be the only Michigan stop/
My first (and thusfar only) Morrissey show was last year at the Michigan. Very nice, old venue in a great great city. Within a couple blocks of some fantastic record shops, and right across the street from the original Borders bookstore. It is highly recommended. Also, as i recall, last year there was very little security in the form of a few older guys, and quite a few people got on stage.
Come to Ann Arbor. You'll be glad you did.![]()

I agree. They have some excellent old bookshops too. And nearby!
That really is a great Borders.
There's lots of vegetarian eating options (it's a college town, naturally).
Stucchi's Ice Cream is a must.
It's also where Iggy Pop and the Stooges used to live and play. I just finished "Open Up and Bleed" - a fascinating Iggy Pop biography. Highly recommended.
I'm wondering the same thing, too. I'm in Chicago so of course I'll go to the Aragon, but I was considering MI or WI. Milwaukee is closer for me...
Milwaukee is a general admission show in a ballroom. Sound can be boomy if your are in the back of the ballroom.......up close sound is pretty good.
I think Michigan is a seated Theatre. The stage in Milwaukee is very wide so you have a good change of being close if you arrive early and there has never been a barricade. The Eagles Ballroom has the same kinda set up as the Aragon in Chicago, but......no barrier.....the stage is much wider...and it has much better site lines. Not sure how to express this but I guess it has a friendly feeling than the Aragon. There shouldn't be a long line, security will not be as tight and more bars inside the venue.
For the Quarry Show in Milwaukee, I arrived an hour before stage time, was about 10 feet from the stage and got the shirt. I guess the Michigan place has a pit, but otherwise seated. Milwaukee will not sell out right away. The Quarry show was full but only after a drink special flier was passed out around the universities. If money is tight, maybe wait to see if scalpers need to get rid of tickets a day or two before???
The venue is near Marquette University and about 5 min west of the downtown. Many would consider it downtown....but not really. The Ambassador Hotel is right across the street but it may be pricey.
Any Milwaukee questions....just ask.......born and raised here.
Anyone from "Team Morrissey" from the Aragon, Merriville, and HOB show (w/Killers) hit me up if you wanna crash with us....I dont have contact info for you!
And I will die with both my hands untied
oh man i wish i could have seen morrissey in ann arbor. i just moved from lansing, michigan :/
