... How’s that for feigning surprise.

It’s about time.
If there’s another politician that I can’t stand looking at or listening to besides Bush, it’s Rod.
I saw him jogging once and was tempted to run him over with my car. We’re all corrupted in Chicago.
Good riddance, Blago. George Ryan just got a new girlfriend.
Thanks, Blago, for makin' Illinois look like some madhouse.![]()
I don't know if I should be comforted in being reminded that the Democrats of Illinois still appear to outdo the Democrats of Northeast Ohio (my neck of the rust belt) in corruption. Or, we shall see. There's a massive FBI probe going on here as well, and I can only hope they catch some of the big fish. My new Congresswoman (Marcia Fudge) was just selected by the crooks of the local Democratic Party, no doubt in similar fashion as Obama's Senate seat was up for sale. And it's common knowledge that all the pay-to-play shit is the norm in Cleveland from our Democrat scoundrels.
The FBI has been raiding the homes of our county commissioners, county auditor, county judges, etc, all year long, and hopefully we'll have a prosecutor in Patrick Fitzgerald's league who will take them down hard in the new year. Just yesterday the feds arrested a city councilman for taking a bribe, but he's a tiny fish in the deep sea of corruption that is Democratic Party politics in the Industrial Midwest.
I'll pop some popcorn and be sure to watch Greta Van Sustren's coverage of this piece of shit from Illinois tonight! Not sure why his bond was set so low. Maybe he'll blow his own brains out in the days ahead.![]()

I don't know if I have the stomach to watch tonight. He won't blow his brains out, and he won't resign as he should. He's a stubborn fuck, he was denying everything and claiming honesty and innocence as recently as last Sunday's paper. This is going to leave our state crippled until we get the Lt. Governor installed in his place. Which won't be any substantial change, probably.
LOL! He was saying as recently as the day before his arrest that there was no cloud hanging over his head, just sunshine.
His corruption is so blatant, rampant, and over the top, it's hard to believe he wasn't impeached long ago. Well, maybe not hard to believe, as he fit in just fine in Chicago politics.
So, is this the sort of hope and change you get when you listen to Barack Obama?
LinkObama Advised Blagojevich On His Victorious Gubernatorial Run. “That year, [Obama] gained his first high-level experience in a statewide campaign when he advised the victorious gubernatorial candidate Rod Blagojevich, another politician with a funny name and a message of reform.” (Ryan Lizza, “Making It,” The New Yorker, 7/21/08)
Obama: “If the governor asks me to work on his behalf, I’ll be happy to do it.” (John Patterson, “Senator Says He’s Still Willing To Help Blagojevich Despite Hiring Concerns,” Chicago Daily Herald, 7/27/06)
Obama Endorsed Blagojevich For A Second Term. “Obama, who endorsed Blagojevich for a second term nearly 18 months ago, said he’s ready to help Illinois democrats in the upcoming elections.” (John Patterson, “Senator Says He’s Still Willing To Help Blagojevich Despite Hiring Concerns,” Chicago Daily Herald, 7/27/06)
Obama: “We’ve got a governor in Rod Blagojevich who has delivered consistently on behalf of the people of Illinois.” (Deanna Bellandi, “Illinois Democrats Talk Unity But Don’t Show It,” The Associated Press, 8/16/06)
We can see how seriously we should take Barack Obama when he vouches for someone. He was vouching for the man who may turn out to be the single most corrupt politician in all of America.
But Obama has learned that he's gotta distance himself from the shady characters he was palling around with in Chicago. Jeremiah Wright? Obama was only at the church on the days he was being a nice, respectable pastor. Rod Blogojevich? Like Schultz on Hogan's Heroes, Obama will say, "I know nothing! Nothing!" In fact, Barack may have even been smart enough to have Rahm Emanuel blow the whistle on Rod now that he's moving on up to Washington.
And if an Obama advisor lets slip that Obama's peeps were talking with Rod on who to select as the new Senator --
-- of course it was a misstatement. Barack knew nothing! Nothing! Our new President-Elect from filthy Chicago politics was, as usual, blissfully unaware. And now he's "saddened and sobered" to discover that Rod was a huge crook.
Well, he's moved on up to Washington, and those characters are all in his rearview mirror now. Obviously he'll be Mr. Clean in the White House. You know, with all those Clinton people he's been hiring, including Hillary herself.
So don't worry. Let's have another thread about how Sarah Palin is the worst piece of scum to ever run a state.
UPDATE: Not sure what's up with that YouTube. Now it says it is unavailable. It was the clip of this:LinkIn a television interview last month, David Axelrod, a longtime Chicago political consultant who served as Obama's campaign strategist and will accompany him to the White House, said Obama had spoken to the governor about the Senate vacancy.

The FBI investigators have stated that Obama is not directly involved. I read that in one of their press releases yesterday. I'll post a link later, I don't have time right now to find the link.
Also-
Not the most corrupt, certainly. You forgot about Mayor Daley. :wink:Originally Posted by Theo

Happy 52nd Birthday, G-Fraud. I wonder if he took his morning jog –I mean run (from the law) today.
I bet some people in Springfield are sweating (nervous). Stand by for the ripple effect throughout the Capital and the City. I truly hope Barack was in the dark on all of this…and I doubt that Rod will get to choose the next Senator. As if he could produce a credible replacement. Gah! Impeach the bastard, please. And I can’t stand his wife, “Potty Mouth Patty”, either. I feel sorry for their kids. I feel sorry for our State. What an embarrassment.
This does not bode well for an Olympic bid. Unless musical Senate chairs is a new competition.
Patrick Fitzgerald made clear, though, that he doesn't give anyone a clean bill of health. I watched the whole press conference and Fitzgerald stressed that point, while he also said that there are no allegations about Obama.
I find it strange that Obama stated, yesterday, that he never met with Rod to discuss the Senate seat, not even once.
His advisor, Axelrod, said otherwise a couple weeks ago on Fox News.
This acticle from Nov. 8 also suggests otherwise:
[UPDATE: FOR THE SECOND TIME TODAY, THE ABOVE ARTICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN DOWN FROM THE KQHA WEB SITE -- WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!]QUINCY, IL — Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it.
This anouncement from the Illinois Government News Network also suggests otherwise:
There was another article that said:Governor Blagojevich Congratulates President-elect Obama and Discusses U.S. Senate Seat
But it's been taken down. LinkCHICAGO, ILL. — Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
That’s one of Obama’s first priorities today.
He’s meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.
[UPDATE: WHY IS KQHA REMOVING THESE ARTICLES FROM THEIR WEB SITE? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? DO THEY HAVE A TECHNICAL PROBLEM, OR.....?!?]
So, did Obama lie yesterday? Why did he say he never met with the governor, not one time, to discuss the Senate seat, but there are numerous articles and a clip of his advisor that say otherwise? Obama, at the least, has some questions to answer.
And why did he vouch for and endorse the most corrupt politician in America? It's not like the governor was hiding how corrupt he was. I figure you could've sensed he's a crook in any 5 second meeting with him. Hell, just by looking at his hair! But Obama vouched for him. Isn't it taking party loyalty a bit far to endorse the most rotten crook in American politics?
Anyway, looks like there'll be more popcorn to pop tonight, for coverage on Jesse Jackson Jr's involvement in all this.
BLOW THE LID OFF FILTHY CHICAGO DEMOCRATIC PARTY POLITICS, BABY!! Let's face it, the Dems of Illinois are so rotten, so deeply criminal, it's hard to believe anyone is innocent. How else would the biggest of the crooks feel they could be so open about their corruption? I find them all GUILTY by association with each other.![]()

Weeeeeee!!!!! Jesse Jackson Jr's pooping in his pants tonight!!! LOLOL! Will Jesse Jackson Jr. have the guts to enter the No Spin Zone on Fox News to discuss these matters?

Of course, Obama went so low as to be a member of that racist church and be friends with racist, deranged pastor Jeremiah Wright for years, I guess to help himself in the dirty world of Chicago politics. And Obama had the stomach to pal around with terrorist Bill Ayers. So maybe Obama doesn't mind swimming in the scum.
I'm just a boy with a heart full of love
You're arguing with yourself now? Wow.
I would be surprised if Blagojevich and Obama had not exchanged a few words about the Senate seat. They do see each other (until yesterday, that is), and it's an obvious point of conversation. There's nothing intrinsically incriminating about that.
It's difficult to accept that Obama swam in that culture of deep, overt, and all-encompassing corruption and was oblivious to it. Just as it was hard to believe he was caught up for many years in that crazy, racist Jeremiah Wright church and was oblivious to the sermons. Just as it was difficult to believe he was hanging out with terrorist Bill Ayers and was oblivious to him being a terrorist.
This is interesting:
Some are speculating that this "specifically named individual" is Michelle Obama.ROD BLAGOJEVICH stated that he needs to find a way to take the “financial stress” off of his family and that his wife is as qualified or more qualified than another specifically named individual to sit on corporate boards.
Here's one speculation about this:
LinkThe “specifically named individual” is Michelle Obama, who was appointed to the Board of TreeHouse Foods, a WAL-MART vendor, on June 25, 2005, even though she did not have experience in the private sector previous to the appointment. Here are the benefits the Obama family received as a result of Michelle Obama’s stint with the WAL-MART vendor:
According to the couple’s tax returns, Mrs Obama earned $51,200 (£25,700) for her work as a non-executive director on Treehouse’s board last year, on top of the $271,618 salary she was paid as a vice-president of the University of Chicago Hospitals.
She also received 7,500 Treehouse stock options, worth a further $72,375, as she did the previous year, when she banked a $45,000 salary from the company.
Did Michelle Obama receive an appointment to a board she wasn't qualified for in this culture of "pay to play" corruption? Did such an appointment make the governor feel his wife should be able to get her's as well?
Also, questions for Obama, from Politico.com:
1 – “Did you communicate directly or indirectly with Blagojevich about picking your replacement in the U.S. Senate?”....
2 – “Why didn’t you or someone on your team correct your close adviser David Axelrod when he said you had spoken to Blagojevich about picking your replacement?”...
3. “When did you learn the investigation involved Blagojevich’s alleged efforts to ‘sell’ your Senate seat, or of the governor’s impending arrest?”...
4 – “Did you or anyone close to you contact the FBI or U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald about Blagojevich’s alleged efforts to sell your Senate seat to the highest bidder?”...
5 – “Did federal investigators interview you or anyone close to you in the investigation?”...
6 – “When did you and Blagojevich last speak and about what?”...
7 – “Do you regret supporting Blagojevich?”...

Pic of Obama making contact with Blago, the most corrupt politician in the USA (some are suggesting he's a flat-out sociopath), on December 2nd, 2008.
Obama said on December 9th: "I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening."
I guess we're back with the Clintonesque shit. It depends on what "contact" means. Note also the correction he made from "we were not" to "I was not".
