New Order stepped back onto the UK TV stage last week to film a
later with Jools Holland escapade on BBC2.

Interestingly, half way through the show, one of the actors from the new film depicting life at factory records, madchester, appeared in a short interview with Jools Holland. Half way through this interview, Jools Holland asked Peter Hook what he thought to the film... Shouting from the back of the hall Hooky then responded "not bad" .. Jools pressed further "and..er..marks out of 10..." After a pause Hooky then responds with "..6.."

Jools and the actor were left to say to TV viewers that they thought Hooky was 'joking' - but then, Hooky looked pretty annoyed as a quick thinking cameraman zoomed and caught him climbing over a set of speakers to get back to the band.

New Order sang 4 songs, starting with 'Crystal' and ending in a classic love will tear us apart, which did.

I saw that and thought Sumner murdered 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', the man CANNOT sing (or dance for that matter)...

A lot of people share that view. According to Q magazine this month, one of Peter Hooks relatives said that Bernard had got much better
in the vocal department.

I have a tape of Electronic's last TV performance on VH-1 UK and the performance is pitiful, Barney dancing like a father at his teenage daughter's birthday party. He was WAY out of tune on Jools Holland, and those Ric Flair style Whoo's, well...

Sumner was never famous for his live vocal perfomrnaces.. I suspect a lot of enhancing goes on to bring it to studio standard! Then again, if he sings with emotion from the heart.. he is forgiven!

Who saw PULP on Friday.. the song Sunrise is excellent.. and check out 'wickerman' from the new album.
