Do you know any songs with a similar melody or as emotional as 'Well I Wonder'?

It can be by The Smiths or any other band, of course, Morrissey's voice is Unbeatable.
Preferably about unrequited love, but anything will be greatly appreciated. :)
Thanks!

Lyrically similar theme, not musically:

Unlovable

]The swallows have left
my cold and sunless land,
to seek the spring among the violets,
love nests of happiness.

My little swallow has flown,
without leaving me a kiss,
without saying goodbye.

Do not forget me,
my life is joined to yours.
My love for you will always grow,
you will always be in my dreams.

Do not forget me:
my life is joined with yours.
There’ll always be a nest in my heart for you,
Do not forget me!

Do not forget me:
my life is joined with yours.
There’ll always be a nest in my heart for you,
Do not forget me!

The Kids, off Lou Reed's Berlin LP. That was too easy.

They're taking her children away
because they said she was not a good mother
They're taking her children away
because she was making it with sisters and brothers
And everyone else, all of the others
like cheap officers who would
stand there and flirt in front of me

They're taking her children away
because they said she was not a good mother
They're taking her children away
because of the things that they heard she had done
The black Air Force sergeant was not the first one
and all of the drugs she took, every one, every one

And I am the Water Boy, the real game's not over here
But my heart is overflowin' anyway
I'm just a tired man, no words to say
But since she lost her daughter
It's her eyes that fill with water
And I am much happier this way

They're taking her children away
because they said she was not a good mother
They're taking her children away
because number one was the girl friend from Paris
The things that they did, ah, they didn't have to ask us
and then the Welshman from India, who came here to stay

They're taking her children away
because they said she was not a good mother
They're taking her children away
because of the things she did in the streets
In the alleys and bars, no she couldn't be beat
that miserable rotten slut couldn't turn, anyone away

I am the Water Boy, the real game's not over here
But my heart is overflowin' anyway
I'm just a tired man, no words to say
But since she lost her daughter
It's her eyes that fill with water
And I am much happier this way

This song is truly an amazing piece of work. When I first heard it I was reduced to tears. Everything on it is just magical. I don't think I can bear to listen to it at this moment in time. I Know It's Over is a masterpiece, but the simplicity of this song makes it almost more unbearable.

I completely agree with you. We can clearly hear the heartache in his voice.....we can even feel it. His vocals are just perfect. :)

Funnily enough, "I Wonder" by Gary Numan instills in me the same emotions as "Well I Wonder". The actual song isn't on YouTube, but the demo version is (called "Wonder Eye"). It's pretty similar to the album version, so here it is:

And sometimes,
When I'm lonely,
I think of you
And I wonder

And sometimes,
When someone
Calls your name,
I wonder

You changed my life
And you could have changed my world
And I
Miss your voice and
I miss your heartbeat
I miss your face and
I miss you

And sometimes
When I'm sleeping,
I dream of you
And I wonder

And sometimes
When I forget,
I call for you
And I wonder

You said 'goodbye'
Said 'It's over'
You said 'I'm tired
I can't wait
All my life
I won't cry
Anymore'

And sometimes when
I wonder
I cry for you
And I miss you

And sometimes I
Remember
How to feel again
And I miss you

Well I Wonder might be my favorite smiths song ever, so this is hard...

The Cyrkle - The Visit(She Was Here)

Neil Young - The Losing End (live version)

I went into town to see you yesterday
but you were not home.
So I talked to some old friends
for a while
before I wandered off alone.

It's so hard for me now
But I'll make it somehow,
Though I know I'll never be the same.
Won't you ever change your ways,
It's so hard to make love pay
When you're on the losing end,
And I feel that way again.

Well, I miss you more than ever,
since you've gone
I can hardly maintain.
Things are different round here
every night,
my tears fall down like rain.

It's so hard for me now
But I'll make it somehow,
Though I know I'll never be the same.
Won't you ever change your ways,
It's so hard to make love pay
When you're on the losing end,
And I feel that way again.
