    I'm pretty sure it was "Summer Holiday" by Cliff and the Shads.

    EDIT: Oh, I then spotted the given link; I was right about Cliff, but I'd never heard of the thing that was no 1 in America, and the Australian charts don't seem to go back that far, which was probably a bit of a downer for Rolf Harris....
