Morrissey German CDs

Could anyone who has these CDs check if they have "printed in Germany" on the backinsert or if they just have "made in Germany" on the disc.

World Of Morrissey - Germany CD [EMI 832448-2]
Southpaw Grammar - Germany CD [RCA 29953 2]

I do live in Germany, but i have never seen them here!

In fact, all the records in question i have in my collection are Made in Holland (Netherlands) or Made in the UK.

EMI always used Holland as a main manufacturing place for European editions of CD's, as Sony used mainly Austria. In addition, most of them marked as Made in The EEC, EC or later EU. So non-domestic CD's Made In Germany are rare in Germany, too.

I do have some Morrissey MXCD (e.g. November) that are Made and printed in Germany.

i have "Beethoven" CD saying on disk and backinsert
"Made in Holland" .... no Germany !

I'm pretty sure that there is no German "Southpaw Grammar". This should have been deleted from the discography some time ago. It has been deleted from my offline discography. The promo cd of the album in Germany was the UK version with a German fact sheet. If there had been a German issue, they would very likely have used it for promotion instead of the UK issue.

As for the others I think it's safe to assume they don't exist either. If our German collectors here don't have them, they must not exist. I've never owned those myself.

Well thanks for clearing this up.
Does this mean there are no German cassettes for these releases as well? The only German release of the mentioned titles I have is a Your Arsenal German LP.

I've checked my collection again and i only have three CD's that are clearly Made In Germany: Interesting Drug, November Spawned A Monster and Satan Rejected My Soul.

Though it's stated on the backside of the disc (Mercury 568 223-2) Satan was Made but never released here in Germany but in Sweden prior to the UK release (as he toured there at the time). Strangely enough, another Satan promo with a german promo insert (Mercury 568 278-2) has been Made in the UK....

It's interesting that all three German releases have slighly differences to the UK releases. The November sleeve has the title on it and Morrissey is written in a differrent colour. The third track is just labeled as Girl least on the disc.

Satan has the darker sleeve from the US promo, not the UK one with the titles written on it.

Intersting Drug is issued not on HMV but on EMI Electrola and has a totally different design of the insert as well as the disc itself.

I haven't checked Passions if there are other German releases, but these are the three i have!

As they are from 1989 and 1997 it's unlikely that you will find spare copies now...

I also live in Germany, and my pre-ATTACK Morrissey album CDs are either printed in the UK or Holland, with the exception of Bona Drag being made in Austria.

I noticed something strange, however ... my Maladjusted CD is made in the UK (536 036-2), but it DOES include "Sorrow Will Come In The End".

I do not have an Austrian Bona Drag but I have a few Italian Morrissey CDs.

No, it's a Mercury release. Maybe it wasn't meant to be sold in the UK, but on the inner ring of cd backside it says "Made in UK".
