    Default America....

....America was getting far too big for its boots, its arrogance needed curtailing.

Maybe a few more attacks like the ones in NYC and Washington will make you realise there is a big wide world out there.

    And they ALL hate you.

    Apart from Tony Blair.

Be frightened....and let's hope God WILL bless America.

    You need it.

p.s. those twin towers.... horrible looking, tacky buildings, anyway. Nasty.

Of course.. all the Gaps and the Nikes that are turning over billions upon billions of dollars a year - who cares about the 10 year old that has to stand up for 12 hours a day and gets paid 15 pence for it. Who cares when all the nice little American fatcats bung another billion into the bank?

These companies can easily, easily afford to pay these children (who shouldn't even be working) a proper wage, and can easily afford to give them better working conditions. But oh no. Because they're out of sight and out of mind, they can continue to shell out the least amount possible for these workers but have no shame in selling all their stock at an obscene price.

America gave them civilisation? American companies ought to learn to be civil to their workers, and not just the ones posing trendily in their shops telling the customers to 'Have a nice day.' Grrr.

Just remember Little Miss Bleeding Heart, that NONE of those children were forced into labor. They took the jobs because they wanted them. They didn't have to take the jobs. And it obviously must still be better than any employment their own little pathetic countries offer otherwise they wouldn't submit to the "awful" conditions, now would they??

Yankee, you're a dumb, naive, facile, ill-informed prick.

The sort who votes Bush, eats at McDonalds, doesn't hold a passport and who listens to MTV all day and believes a cultural day out is 2 hours at some faceless, nameless mall and a quick stop off at Starbucks.

In fact, unfortunate and despicable as the attack was, YOU are exactly the sort of person Bin Laden was aiming at when he struck. The dull, tunnel vision-type American who doesn't believe there's a world outside his own country.

And, after reading your puerile little post, I can hardly blame him.

People like you make me ashamed to be human, and I pity your countrymen having you in their midst.

Why do you think these multi-national companies increasingly move their production to the Third World? Because labour laws and social regulations are far more lax than in the West, which is why they can get away with employing children in sweatshops for pennies, conveniently turning a blind eye to this so that they can push down the costs of the product to the Western consumer and thus make a large profit out of the overweight Americans who buy these goods. So you think the children want to work for 12 hours a day do you? Go and read up about it (if you ever read anything apart from the TV guide) and it might open your eyes.

First of all, I don't own a TV. Secondly, if the conditions are so horrible, why don't they quit?? What...can't they find better employment supplied by their own country?? Indeed not. And that's why they stay.

Their conditions may be far worse than what you or I are acustomed to, but remember these are developing countries and they have to start somewhere. Think back to the start of the industrial revolution and see how conditions were in factories for american and european peoples at the turn of the last century. No different than what we see today in developing 3rd world countries. Don't blame America for the ills of the world.

If you find it so horrible, instead of venting your anger towards me, why not do something useful to change it. Slimey bastards, all of you!!

I already act to, or rather, I act passively. Consumers wield great power. I try to avoid goods made in Third World sweatshops, many of which - even you must admit - are made by American companies.

And what jobs did the Brits bring to the 3rd worlders...who'd otherwise still be in g-strings foraging for food in the jungles?? Uhhh........

Your people did the same thing in Africa. And America NEVER took it to the extreme that YOU Brits have in South Africa.

So cram your logic up your pastey British ass!!

what you said it's really horrible and hard, but you have a point, and somehow you're not so far from the truth. lots of countries ARE suffering terrorist attacks, but no one cares a damn @#!!! .the tradegy in US was a lesson to them, i hate to say that, but it was. perhaps now they will realise they are not the centre of the universe. no one should approve any kind of terrorism, but i guess it's time to sit and think about the BAD influence, they americans have on this whole planet, and think about the world KARMA. america will never be the same, they are not safe at all, and Bush is a joke. FBI has arrested a lot of innocents who happen to be arabs, or look like arabs, and they did nothing wrong, and FBI just proves that they are ridiculous, far away from the characters of american movies, they are laughable. conclusion: You don't live in the country YOU used to think that was perfect. now, no one wants to go there, they just want to stay away. i repeat: this is a lesson to them.

If we're going to point the finger at colonial outrages in the Dark Continent, first prize must go to Belgium and their activities in Congo. So let's attack Belgians instead! They deserve a good kicking.

Ah yes, turn the cheek. Typical British approach. Harsh the others for the same damn crimes you have lurking in your closet. Pretend your country couldn't possibly carry out such atrocities with its own hands. Bravo!
