Stating the obvious, but the mugshot month/day of the guy in the left photo is the same date as the gig. And he looks like a cross between Kirk Douglas and Ronnie Kray -- two Moz faves.

Default Picture Help - Hyde Park backdrop

What was the backdrop at the O2 wireless festival? I have some photos for reference if anyone wasn't there.

The backdrop at the o2 was the same as seen previously on this thread. I also think it would make a brilliant t-shirt - much better than the god awful ones he has to offer at the minute.

Exactly what i was thinking - but from an earlier era. As if Douglas and Kray designed their look on this man. Cool, mean, hard and devious - excellent.

Incidentally 26/6/04 Morrissey played at Meltdown Festival and the same date this year played Cork gig.

He seems to like the looks of the guy in the picture and amused by the date of the photo was taken.

    Default Warhol rip-off? It's homage

Back in 1964, Andy Warhol did a famous series of screenprints of America's Most Wanted (see google image search for "Warhol Most Wanted"). The Warhol screenprints and Morrissey's backdrop, though different mugshots, are identical. So this is very blatantly inspired by/a homage to Warhol (see also Candy Darling on the cover of Sheila Take A Bow and cover of first Smiths album).

    Thanks for the info.

Rip-off is not appropreate, it's homage I'd say.

I recognize those because they're also hanged on near the roof both Cork and Dublin as well.

The middle picture is almost certainly Enoch Powell. If it isn't then it is the spitting image of him.

And if it is then that is a very controversial thing to do. I'm not saying he shouldn't do it, but it will court controversy. For those of you who don't know Enoch Powell was an infamous figure in British Politics, who made a very inflammatory speech on immigration in 1968, incorrectly titled 'the rivers of blood' speech.

Me and my friends noticed this at the O2 on Friday and were wondering about it. Didn't recognise the others though.......

I cant tell if the media just havent realised or whether they want to avoid another NME incident. He probably could've got away with doing The National Front Disco though, as the whole thing isnt that newsworthy.

I can't believe that Morrissey keeps them all, and just about everything that is "borrowed" by the band or crew ends up on ebay at some stage.

And what about the red letter lights - cool as - someone must have them.
that would kinda be difficult seing as though they are projections. Although a daring fan could steal the projector and a stupid fan could go home with a blank white sheet.

That gives me an idea for an eBay auction...

Love Morrissey, but hate most Morrissey fans? Then this is the FB group for you.
