I'm sure that I'm not the first person to have seen this...but I thought I'd post it anyway

Originally a contender for 2nd Smiths single until worries of a tabloid backlash shelved the idea...

Taken from Passions... "Original plans were to release an early version of "Reel Around The Fountain" (with Troy Tate as producer) as the a-side of this single. Plans went no further than the 7" test pressing stage. This highly collectible item has a green label, it is backed by the same intended version of "Jeane" and is also numbered RT136."

It was listed in Record Collector as 2nd most valuable Smiths collectable - £1,200. Rumoured to only have been 25 copies made. http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showpost.php?p=840429&postcount=85

This seller has some nice stuff up for sale at the moment. I've never bought anything from him/her but he/she has outbid me on lots of things over the years.

Currently at £740 with 8 days to go. I'm off to talk to my bank manager about the credit crunch :(

Just to add to an earlier comment - The Scottish seller is a mate of mine - the item is 100% genuine! :)

Well done to Nitroboy99 - £1220. Bid early and left it...

Is nitroboy a member on here?

Just a word on this vinyl...
I had an email from the eBay seller - Gary.. he played this vinyl for the first time....and contrary to just about all common knowledge, the Reel Around The Fountain Test Press Promo actually plays the David 'Kid' Jensen BBC version of this song (from Hatful Of Hollow) - NOT the Troy Tate version. In all the literature I have read over the years (including Simon Goddard's 'Songs That Saved Your Life) the Troy Tate scrapped version is named as the track on this 7".
Not a lot of people know that!
