Morrissey to headline Wireless 2008 ~ July 3rd
According to Channel4 teletext (p.342), Morrissey is due to headline the first day of this years Wireless festival in Hyde Park in London. He is to play on July the 3rd, with Kanye West, Fatboy Slim and Counting Crows headlining each of the 3 remaining days. Unclear as to when tickets on sale for Moz; Fatboy Slim tickets are from this Saturday ~ the 16th of Feb. ~ whereas Counting Crows are on sale from Feb. 20th. This has been mentioned in the tour section but I felt it was worthy of wider dissemination!
The news comes from Teletext’s Planet Sound. This has always been a 100% accurate source in the past – they were first to break the news of the Glastonbury and Reading appearances back in 2004.
So Moz to play in the glorious Hyde Park on a hot summer’s day; perfect!

obviously one would wait for a formal announcement.
however, planet sound didn't say Moz was performing last year. I've not known them ever to be wrong. however, they were pretty vicious (altho accurate, in my opinion) in their review of THPGU so perhaps the Moz camp has started feeding them unreliable information to discredit their reputation!

There are two more people celebrate their birthday on that day, Alain and my best friend.
My friend has a three year old boy, possibly unable to come to London to see the gig on that day.

it's the first we've heard that Moz is touring this summer.
and it's a huge gig at a prime London festival.

I think they'll be £40 (check the Wireless 2008 website).
Pretty good value for a day at a sunny festival seeing 5 or 6 (or more) bands.
It's about the same as the Roundhouse tickets...
