Strange/unexpected Moz references?

There was this interview with Moz from 2009 in Danish magazine Gaffa and there was this part:

I guess it’s survival of the fittest?
“Probably more like survival of the fattest.”

I never realized that "survival of the fattest" may have been a nod to the sculpture of the same name who stands in Copenhagen since 2002, especially since the interview was for a Danish magazine.

Comedy legend Roy Hudd

Roy highlights Mrs Shufflewick, one of Moz's favourite drag acts from bygone days on Radio 4's 'Front Row' programme as a huge influence on his work. It's available on the Front Row podcast.

Roy Hudd is a true comedy legend and a dying breed unfortunately.

Charles Dance reads from List of the Lost

Shocked while watching "Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2015" on Channel 4 to hear Charles Dance read an excerpt of one of the sex scenes from LOTL with the panelists then having to guess who the author was and they all got it right!

Just watched this, hearing Charles Dance read it out almost upgrades it to "unbearable". Herculean effort from Dance.

Comedian Lucy Porter was on BBC 6 Music Radcliffe and Maconie show today.

She mentioned Morrissey when she was asked to write a letter to 16 years old herself for a magazine article.

"Don't worry, things will be worked out, you won't get married to Morrissey"...

In the January 2016 edition of Juxtapose Magazine is an article on the (extraordinary) artist/muralist Seb Gorey. In it is a sampling of his sketchbooks and on one page is a jumbled reference to the lyrics "Shoplifters of the World, Unite and Take Over." Made me smile.

Linder in i-d magazine. Some Morrissey references.

For example: "Morrissey and I were always curious about the human parade, we used to watch people walking through Manchester streets and we were always most curious about the ones who were most at ease in their skins. We were both so ill at ease in our own bodies. We always looked beyond the clothes to the way certain people walked; we were convinced that we could tell if people were having sex by the sway of the pelvis. Needless to say, our pelvises were immobilised at birth. It automatically happened if you were northern and had an intellect. No one was allowed to have a library ticket and have sex."

"like morrissey, reeds intelligent theory about his writing is often more interesting than the actual lyric..."

"Smiths" being the operative word. There are a few striking similarities between M and V (both spoiled brats, for one):
