Please excuse me from gym
I've got this terrible cold coming on
If you dont want to get pushed about dont go down the front, the pushing and shoving at any gig is what makes them genuine. I certainly would not like to go to a Morrissey concert and everybody has to stand like status because of people like you. Again if you dont like the pushing dont go down the front ya boring fart.![]()
Dont let the blue eyes fool you
At most of my previous Moz gigs I have been right down there in the centre of the "pit". At some of the smaller venues (Grimsby, Blackburn and Preston spring to mind) the pushing and shoving was bearable but at G-Mex I found myself completely out of control and just being carried around by the crowd. Birmingham, Earls Court and the Lowry were very different because we had seats (although our bums never touched them all night).
At the Roundhouse I am planning to stand as close as I can to the front but off to the side to see if it is a more pleasurable experience.
Leave me alone, I was only singing....
Oi, who you talking about when you reference to 'people like you' i am only just putting a thought forward and my feelings, im ok with a bit of rough and tumble, but personally i think there are boundaries and respect for other people, as well as trying to have a good time yourself.

Although it wasn't my first (lucky enough to have seen the smiths) and certainly not my last, I thought Coachella was really bad. 113 degrees in October in the desert, with all the fans, pushing and shoving. People were literally passing out and had to be dug out b/c of it. It was the worst i've been to.
Drinking and Driving don't mix, that's why I ride a bike
Yes, it was at the Phil. I was sitting a few seats further along on the front row and witnessed the whole sorry episode.
I have to say that, whilst I only saw the Smiths once (at the Liverpool Royal Court in March '85), there is a real difference between the 'pit' (God, how I hate that word) at a Smiths gig and a Moz one.
Whilst the crowd in the 'pit' at the Royal Court (it was called the 'Stalls' back then, even though all the seats had been ripped out) all those years ago could certainly be described as 'boisterous', there was none of shocking brutality I have witnessed at Moz solo shows over the years.
Eeeeh, them were the days!
Devious, truculent & unreliable
You guys have it real easy. I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down.
Battersea tent all those monns ago was pretty lively.

Rough and tumble (as in, pushing, moshing, shoving) down the front is to be expected and is all part and parcel of any (good) Morrissey gig.
What isn't, is people actually punching / pinching / kicking / attacking people to try to get to the front row, or just further forward. I have experienced this myself at a Moz show before, and that has nothing to do with having a good time or enjoying the show at all. It's simple selfishness.
my first gig was december 2004, i was only 14 so i nearly died. i last until halfway through though. then some lovely security guard let me stand at the side, i think because i was quite small. ahaha. pathetic.
was at ally pally, does anyone remember that kerfuffle where someone got hit or something? bit drams. i was at the front for that one.
can't wait for nexst week, means i'll have seen him eleven times, hell yeahz
My first Morrissey show was at The Santa Barbara Bowl in 1991. He was so beautiful and I was in awe all night and although our seats were decent they were not down front and I enviously watched this girl go to the stage and she was crying and hugging Morrissey while he sang and he danced with her. She was up there for quite a while until the stage wranglers finally removed her.
Love, peace and harmony ?

Oh, very nice
Very nice
Very nice

...But maybe in the next world
I have been going to Smiths and Morrissey concerts since 1984 and every concert i have been to has been bedlam down the front, but over the last 3 or 4 years there seems to be an element fans hell bent on going down the front and moaning if anybody gets too close to them. At the end of the day its Morrissey you are going to see and if you cant put up with the jostling that goes on at the gig dont stand at the front. You may have been making a point but it obviously bothered you if you felt the need to post a message about it.![]()

Yeah I thought that was a great Mozzer moment. Uploaded here:

Um..i'm really not taking things that seriously, let alone on a thread site! I post most threads just to engage disscussion. Yes the pusing and shoving bothered me a little, but i'm not being spoilt or whatever i'm not a 'person like me' who spoils it for myself and everyone else! It's not that serious. The pushing and shoving was due to complete obsession with Mozz, fine, but it was my first ever Mozz gig and i not been used to it. It annoyed me a bit but some people on here are getting more het up about me mentoning it than i was about the pushing and shoving!![]()

[QUOTE=raincoated lover;749562]My first Moz show was December 6th? (or 5th can't remember) at Nottingham Ice Arena.
This was a pretty tame show to be honest. Went on my own. Walked into the arena with 5 mins to go and was 3 or 4 from the front. Very little pushing and shoving.
My memorable concerts for this were Blackburn 2002 and 2006, Blackpool 2004 and GMex 2006
Sadly you're not the first to witness her misbehaviour:

.....in a snow filled sky, we'll make it all right to come undone.
My first Morrissey gig was Marlay Park, Dublin in 2006 and YES I couldn't believe the mayhem when he first came on stage, probably because I was really near the front and all gigs before that had been mild affairs which I'm too ashamed to confess to. As soon as Morrissey came on I lost my friend in the crush and was grabbed by some random guy who said he'd 'take care of me' and I had to wrestle him off and wriggle forwards to where my friend ended up
