Does anybody have this?
11 November 1991 - WDRE (New York City, USA)
It's an hour long radio interview circa the Kill Uncle tour. Would love to hear if anybody can upload?

Here's a recording of that interview that I downloaded quite a while ago. It's a a folder (size: about 100 MB) with 3 files, the first one is a shorter one of the radio announcers talking about Moz, with Moz's soundcheck heard in the background; sound is excellent; the actual interview is about 65 minutes long, and it's in two files, but the sound is not very good so you'll have to up the volume for it.

Pain is to pleasure as disco is to punk. You need to live through one to fully appreciate the other.

Thank you very much for this. I hadn't heard this interview in over 20 years! I remember all the hoopla this interview caused around that time. Morrissey was played constantly on DRE. It was a great radio station.
Edit: Well, almost 20 yearsFelt like it anyway.

Haha. Malibu Sue.
Awse.
First the Morley group sold off 92.7 WDRE/WLIR to Clear Channel? and it is now a spanish speaking station. Now it was in the paper that the suffolk county/hamptons sister station is being turned into another ESPN simulcast.
Don't they know that my afternoons are spent religiously listening to Mike and the Mad Dog on 660 WFAN? There is no need for ESPN II. So upsetting.
Wasn't she something?I think she named herself after the Malibu Bay Breeze, which was a popular drink at the time with the women, but I can't be sure.
I recall another interview at that time with WDRE's own Tom Calderone where they took calls from fans. Most of the callers were at the point of sheer hysterics, that they were choking on their tears. That interview was close to veering cliffwards until this english caller apparently got through and started asking Morrissey about Corrination Street.
Rumor has it that the english caller it was in fact a DRE employee who desperately tried to save the interview from complete disarray. True or not, it's a great story. Wish I had the sense to tape it at the time, but didn't.
If anyone has that particular interview on tape or whatever, please post. The best I could do is send you a Malibu Bay Breeze recipe in return.
Thank you for posting this....I had never heard it before...
It was only a test
