I can have no more than 5 lest there is a riot from the family who doesn't "get" Morrissey.
So what 5 should I pick?

My life is opera.
"Will Never Marry"
"My Love Life"
"I Know it's Over"
"Oh Well, I'll Never Learn"
"I Don't Owe You Anything"
Actually, we did play one of these at ours. I just won't tell you which one.
you should be delighted with 5
i got one at my wedding - chose Some girls are bigger than others. And none of the guests got it - which was the point.
don't invite them, and besides it is YOUR wedding so have what you want.

Incessantly perverse adoration of Steven Patrick Morrissey

that goes to show how little you know...
"You Know I Couldn't Last" To set the proper expectations for the wedding night...![]()
You guys have it real easy. I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down.
Funnily enough I was discussing this with a friend on Saturday...
We went for There Is A Light... as a first dance song
Others maybe:
You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side
No-One Can Hold A Candle To You (I know its a cover but meh)
Let Me Kiss You
Whatever Happens, I Love You
I don't know where you pixies came from, but I like your pixie drink
Ha!
Seriously, I believe There is a Light is a nice suggestion, Please, Please works, and I would suggest:
Stop Me...-danceable and people may know it from the Mark Ronson version
This Charming Man-nice for your groom
Sing Your Life-danceable, uplifting etc.
I Know it's gonna' happen someday-old fashion sounding and hopeful
Congratulations and have a wonderful day![]()
If the DJ can 'spin the decks' get him to play Elvis - 'His Latest Flame' with a deft segue into The Smiths live version.
It's got a good beat, and should get people moving. Can't thing of the appropriate dance moves, the 'twist' maybe. Anyway, you'll all be drunk so just 'throw some Morrissey shapes'. People expect silliness at weddings. In fact: It's obligatory.
Enjoy your Wedding Day!
HAHAHAHA! How'd I miss that one?
That's a really great idea. Just as long as you don't karaoke to it.
If you're looking for a Moz wedding song that doesn't have any bit of cynicism or harshness to it, you'll, well, never marry.
"If you're looking for a Moz wedding song that doesn't have any bit of cynicism or harshness to it, you'll, well, never marry."
Well, I did marry! And my future wife specifically banned any and all Smiths / Morrissey / Leonard Cohen songs from the list. She wasn't / isn't a fan. Prefers classical music.
I was allowed 'Perfect Day' by Lou Reed.
Other than that it was party music and Irish jigs! Very good time had by all!![]()
Let Me Kiss You, without a doubt...
This Charming Man is brill to dance to
And My Love Life and Please Pleas Please...
And finally, will you play Sunny?!Cos I love it and I think it gets a little underappreciated

Smiths songs? At a wedding? Let's not be silly..
"I think both me and Morrissey are about as proud as anyone can be about those records. I'm proud of everything the band did, and I'm proud of the relationship, and I'm proud of the friendship. I don't have any feud going on. I support what Andy's doing, and I don't know what Morrissey's doing but I'm behind it." - Johnny Marr, 2013.
Sorrow will come in the end
The more you ignore me
You've got everything now
Unloveable
I just want to see the boy happy
Disappointed
OK...maybe some of these are not quite suitable for a wedding reception.
Please, please, please is quite lovely though.
