Default Did everyone have a good New Years Eve?

How was last night? Anyone get up to anything particularly exciting? I went out in Durham, it was good but quite standard really - however I was in very good company so all in all it was a good (yet alas, expensive) night.
I don't feel too clever today however.

I knackered me back, and now I'm in agony. On some space dust for the pain, and x-rays tomorrow. Oh what a jolly time. That's the S&G out this week. Bollocks.

And I heard so many things I failed to understand at all

It was okay, nothing overly special...went to a friend's houseparty.

I don't know....I find New Years really depressing. Does anybody else? Or am I a weirdo?

No, you're not. One always expects more.

Hubbi was gigging out of town (he's a comedian), and the kids were too partied out after a hectic holiday week for me to even consider keeping them up a little late (I'd told them over the weekend that "at 9:00, it turns into 2008!" so I wouldn't get stuck with two sleep-starved monsters up at midnight), so I spent the evening eating a little chocolate, watching a little "Top Gear" on BBCAmerica, then watching three Kathy Griffin stand-up specials in a row. I was in bed by 12:30. This was all fine by me; I'm not a big New Year's person, aside from making resolutions and setting goals, which I do in ridiculous amounts.

Wishing all a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful 2008.l

hmmm..yeah, there's is that, you're right. But it's something else too. Can't put my finger on it.

I had a good night - GREAT party, lots of friends there...I don't know, what it is. It's more to do with New Years itself rather than how my night was.

Hope everyone here had a great NYE

Hardly did a thing. My wife isn't well, my son slept out and daughter was on msn all night. I watched The Shawshank Redemption in it's entirety and it was just perfection, so I'm not complaining. Watched a bit of the Jools Holland hootenanny, which was good and had a few beers.

I have no idea - although it might have had something to do with a hill climb last week, almost vertical, and the subsequent descent. I have some Tramadol from my leg op last year, by gum they are good at keeping the pain away and me in a carefree state.

I may yet make an appearance...

*wonders if it is possible to die from a hangover* we went to a house party, was overall good but a bit sad, so I drank my own body weight in vodka and went to bed after the sun came up all things considered, not bad at all.

An old man fell from a monroe in Scotland the other day and died. You should be careful. It's a nice picture of you walking in Last of the summer wine territory.

Sounds like if you do die. Your body will survive in a pickled stated.

I think I would like to die falling off a Monroe if her name was Marilyn

Had a few drinks...played Poker until about 2am....and walked away with an extra $14.00.
My new Salford Lads Club t-shirt is a lucky one indeed.

He is around Thora Hurd's age. We should chip together and get him one of these (click on pic for full effect):
