Grim is a self-described commie of the Leninist persuasion. I agree that it's pretty funny for someone in 21st century Britain to subscribe to Marxist-Leninist Communism, but that's how fucked up some of the lefties are on this board. What, you thought they were Barrack Obama type liberals or something?

What would be funny is if I put together selections from your last month of postings that show how you celebrity-worship Morrissey to a severely mentally-ill degree, even manning the phones to go to war for him over the NME controversy that was his own creation. But I wouldn't put that much time into you. I'll just note that a person is not very interesting when his defining trait is that he doesn't just like Morrissey's music, he follows Morrissey as if he's in a religious cult. You are not a teenager. You should've outgrown this and become your own person. You have never become your own man and this makes you pathetic, though you'll get pats on your back from the crop of 16 year old Morrissey groupies who infest this site (see them going on about how many creases Morrissey has in his ear in the Frink thread).
The only thing I'm curious about - given that you decided you can no longer be a Billy Bragg fan because he committed the outrageous offense of having a disagreement with Morrissey, and given how you go on about your idealism - is why you consider George Galloway an anti-war politician.
You claimed Billy Bragg had offended you for a long time of late and his disagreement with Morrissey was the straw that broke the camel's back. You went on to claim that what offended you previously was that he backed "pro-war Oona King". But you back pro-war George Galloway. Just because Galloway's on the opposite side of the war (that is, on the side of Islamic dictatorships and terrorist groups) doesn't make him "anti-war". It actually makes him far more pro-war than Oona King has ever been, and perhaps the most pro-war politician in all of Britain. He's your man, and you can shove your ideals right up your ass.

Again, if you're gonna go on about Billy Bragg supporting "pro war Oona King" and how this proves he has lost it, while you have gone on about how much you love George Galloway and how your ideals are so wonderful, please make your case that Galloway (lover of Stalinism, supporter of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, supporter and personal beneficiary of Saddam Hussein, enthusiastic supporter of the insurgancy in Iraq, supporter of the Syrian regime, supporter of Hizballah, etc etc etc) is anti-war. And you'll have to do better than Dim O'Grady citing that he belongs to an organization calling itself "Stop the War."
If you can't make your case that the politician you have lionized is anti-war, you should just admit that and stop going on about how awful it is that Billy Bragg likes Oona King. If it doesn't interest you to show that the politician you love and hype is anti-war, why do you make such a big deal out of Billy Bragg liking Oona King? Billy Bragg didn't even support King's support of the invasion of Iraq, so you were obviously just smearing the man. But, if you consider it fair to make a big issue of his support of King, why is it not justified to make an issue of your support of Galloway?
And if you're unaware of how embarassingly worshipful you are of Morrissey at your old age, you are indeed pathetic. Wake up and become your own person. There's even a Morrissey lyric or two that gives similar advice.

Are you suggesting Galloway was a peace-monger in his opposition to the invasion of Iraq? Make your case with some substance. And spare me the suggestion that Galloway opposed the invasion of Iraq because he was so concerned about international law. He willingly enriched himself from Saddam Hussein's genocidal abuse of the Iraqi people and corruption of the Oil for Food program. An active supporter and financial beneficiary of Saddam's regime - and gleeful encourager of the barbarically violent insurgancy - opposing the invasion of Iraq is rather different than a pacifist opposing it. If Dim O'Grady cannot grasp this, I guess it helps explain why he admires Lenin. And I find it difficult to understand someone holding up a man (Galloway) who was cheerleading Hezbollah's missile attacks on Israeli civilians as "anti-war". I won't engage this anymore, though, until I see a substantive case made that Galloway is anti-war and a lover of peace. If you can't do that, enough said about MorrisseyThe23rd's attack on Billy Bragg, where he was grasping at straws to find something to add on so it didn't look like he would cease to be a fan of someone's music simply because the musician disagreed with Morrissey on a rather small controversy stemming from one of Morrissey's interviews (only a pathetic cultist would do that).
As for Billy Bragg, I don't share his socialistic political ideology. I also didn't care for his initial, overly-PC reaction to Morrissey's controversial statements in the NME. But I did find his Op-Ed piece where he took Morrissey to task for his legal response to the NME - beyond the substance of Morrissey's comments about immigration - rather intelligent and interesting, and deserving of a reaction better than Morrissey worshippers such as MorrisseyThe23rd trolling and smearing him over it. But I guess when you're dealing with extreme cultists you can't expect them to be anything but brainless and pathetic.

Hi, 'quite a character' here.
It's great to be on the same page as 'Icons'.
Do you think I would make a good Icon?
I was thinking of changing my name to Micklebury. (Sounds a bit like Morrisey, yeah? Well, a bit.)
Big shout-out to all the fans who helped with the Sponsored Bike Ride in September and have been sending donations ever since.
Fantastic.
Your support is really appreciated.
Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but apparently JK Rowling auctioned off some Harry Potter books for a social club in Edinburgh - has anyone had words with her people to see if she'd do anything for Salford Lads' Club, given that she's a big Moz fan, and that?
