Beat you to it! Actually we don't have the proper tree up yet, but I've bought a couple of Christmassy plant pots from Morrisons, we have some starry twinkly lights up and a poinsietta. The advent calendars have already been opened, Jamie opened up number 16 by mistake, hope this doesn't mean a month of bad luck?
Jamie was being a total shithead yesterday. I'd bought him tickets for Hearts -v- Celtic today, but he'd planned for his wee friend to come around, and I was the bitch-mother-from-hell who'd caused him this inconvenience. No amount of reasonining would get through his obstinate head and he went away to Cubs with a scowl upon his face.
However, upon returning, he said to me "I think I owe you an apology" and we had a cuddle and everything was alright again!
Here's a pic of the little "angel"

Oh well...since your getting all Christmasy I may as well join you!...the tree it is then!(Any tips for keeping a poinsietta alive?...mine is always dead long before Santa comes to call!)
We did advent calenders too...chocolate BEFORE breakfast!
I remember when I was a little girl advent calenders didn't have chocolate in...my Dad would get me one from church with little religious pictures behind each little door...and on Christmas Eve you always had a much larger door with the nativity scene inside...it was VERY exciting!....now if if ain't a chocolate treat they don't want to now....where oh where did all the magic go!
You got an apology AND a cuddle...what a star your little lad is!...and a nice bit of creative face painting is always fun!![]()

My 6 year old has been agitating for the tree for like 2 weeks, but I refuse to put it up before the first weekend in December. Lucky him it' s 1 DEC today, so I struggled with the fake tree (which branches go where? Oh, wait, now it's hourglass shaped!) for over an hour, and the boys spent about 4 minutes hanging all the ornaments in one big clump at bottom center. Ah, well. . .it's pretty and Christmasy in here now and I do enjoy it.

I've hammered a smile across this pasty face of mine since the day I was born in nineteen seventy--OK, I admit it--two.
At my house we take in a lot of stray animals. Well, my puppy has this problem where she tries to eat the cat's food all the time (she loves it for some reason!). So I kept her off the porch while the cats ate so that she couldn't eat their food. While they ate, I gave her some dog food, but the chickens ate it. So I fed her again after the chickens left, but then one of the cats (a wild one) started eating her food. She tried to make the cat leave, but it got pissed and scratched her across the face.Needless to say, the cat quickly fled in order to avoid my wrath and having a shoe thrown at it.

I hope to get my Xmas decorations up tomorrow. We are having a major winter storm today. I'd love to stay in and snuggle up but tonight is my DH's (works for Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co.) company party. Employees and their fams have the run of the Museum of Science and Industry. They have a band and the museum is full of Xmas trees from every country decorated with items/symbols from that country -it's really cool. I'm hoping the Star Wars exhibit that's currently there is open also. You know, for us 'big kids'.![]()
Had a very Christmassy day with my little two. We put the Christmas tree up this morning and some tinsel on the gum tree in the backyard. Our advent calender chocolate is also getting eaten before breakfast!
And after lunch we went to the 'Magic Cave', although my kids don't like to sit on Santa's knee (which I'm fine with)....i think they just like the free helium balloon. As we came down our street on the way home, we saw Santa driving a convertible!!! My daughters mouth was wide open!
Gawd, why is Tom so skinny?
You and Stig must be also very skinny teenagers...*sigh*
...I was gonna say... I know you 'married for money' (your quote!), but whoa!
Last night was super cool at the museum. I went on the Millennium Falcon (5 minute cockpit show/simulation) and took my time thru the Star Wars exhibit. 'twas pretty cool seeing all the models and clothes -everything had tags about what episodes they were in -and interactive stuff. All the adults there were like kids in a candy shop.
Do you think this would make a nice Christmas card?LOL

That would be my brothers christmas card. Great photo.
I have booked tickets for the panto at our little local theatre today for the Christmas holidays...nobody famous or anything...but they are usually pretty good and the kids love it..."oh no they don't"It's Aladdin this year and is being advertised as having a "flavour of Bollywood"...sounds like fun!
