Thread: Getting cameras in

    Default Getting cameras in

How are you folks getting cameras into the gigs? I used to sneak disposable ones in, tucked in my underwear...lol....years ago. For other concerts, the security/search has been so tight I can't imagine how you all are doing it, and it seems like you are taking in nice cameras too. I mean they make you dump your bags, pat you down, metal detectors, wands....maybe that's just Florida...

So how are you getting them in? I even had one taken away from me during a concert of his (1997) and not returned (they spotted me taking pictures).

At the boston show they didn't even check bags. I was in the 3 rd row taking pics right in front of security. they didn't even care.

I was afraid of that as well. NYC didn't search anything - I had to open my shoulder bag, but our "good" camera was in my bra. Hoping there's no searching in Melbourne!!!

    I bet they will.

Also, are disposable cameras even for sale anymore?!

That is what happened at the last Morrissey gig I was at in May, security never took cameras away, people kept taking them. I have GA ticket in Atlanta so will be closer to the stage this time.

When I went to Radio City Music Hall in '04, they did a full pat-down on everyone. This summer, in Clearwater, FL, they didn't even look into bags. You could have brought ANYTHING in!

i had a photo pass so i had no problem, but apparently the staff didn't care for this show (a rarity for this building, and totally contradictory to the posted sign at the entrance, which said that cameras were prohibited at the request of the artist), as the woman behind me had a nice canon DSLR, and i saw plenty of point and shoots being wielded.

I crotched a digital disposable in Merrillville (didnt want to run the risk of having my actual digi taken away) and I strolled right in after they scanned my ticket. I expected tougher -or SOME- security at that venue. The guard by me saw me take every pic that night, but thankfully he was the cool guard that night.

In Waukegan, they looked thru my purse then a female guard frisked me anyway. I took a camera into the Chgo Auditorium last year (crotched my digi) and had a guard tell me to put it away after a few shots.

I wish you luck, my friend but don't worry too much about taking a camera as you know someone will get good pictures at the venue share them. It's some consolation anyway
