Maybe this has been there all along, but I only just notice the User CP option to hide your online/offline status. Has this always been there?
I also tried out the option to view threads in threaded & hybrid (threaded & last-first) modes, but I found that most users simply reply to the messages in order to start a new message, even if all they do is replace the quoted message with their own. This means that many threads has so many levels of nesting that it was too distracting to view things that way.
