He says he will come back on the site next week (Mon or Tues, probably) to answer the concerns and criticisms raised on this and the other 'retirement' thread in the Discussion forum.

I thought we deserved some answers on the 'shoddy journalism' accusations.

I can't wait to post Journalists who lie word by word for him
"The Past Was Yours, But The Future's Mine......"

People shouldn't Profit Off Of Morrissey...Nor should they hoard or "Trade' under specific conditions...Sharing is Caring, Friends...I Don't Eat My Friends, Nor Do I Withhold From Them

And I mean it in a COMPLETELY ARTISTIC sense, but it all depends on your point of view?

Yes, I know, but...shoulda woulda coulda....if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.

The fact is we are where we are. It's not about giving him attention - for me, it's about requesting answers to the shoddy journalism that was initiated in first place.

As Morrissey fans, we of all people should at least try to understand the ways of working of journalists, due to his many mentions of that trade/business sector over the years.

Was there any update to the article in this week's NME or any letters to them about it?

    No, nothing.
This week's half page heated debate was ''Is Amy Winehouse's career over?''

to (mis) quote noel g in the importance of being morrissey

"if he was a racist it would be the news of the world who would expose it not the fucking NME "

which if you look at the message if morrissey was going to chuck it im sure he wouldnt be calling the NME to let them know first

really, why would anybody give a toss about any of this fucking nonsense?
"The idea of a counterculture is ultimately based on a mistake. At best, countercultural rebellion is pseudo-rebellion: a set of dramatic gestures that are devoid of any progressive political or economic consequences and that detract from the urgent task of building a more just society. In other words, it is rebellion that provides entertainment for the rebels, and nothing much else."

    Classic!

It was them that came up with the stupid story that Morrissey was playing at the o2 wireless festival and got people's hopes up when it was a load of poop. I stopped believing anything in NME after that episode.

Perhaps some people might feel they were duped into commenting on the prospect of their hero retiring....I'm sorry if you don't think the issue was worth getting annoyed about.
