    A 21st-century Morrissey classic!
Some great lyrics ('douse the house lights', 'haul me down the hall'), lovely melodies (even if the piano line does sound suspiciously like Take That's 'Back for Good'!) and a masterful ad-libbed outro.
Probably one of my top 10 favourite Morrissey/Whyte compositions.
I think Morrissey's voice really suits a piano accompaniment. Wish he'd do it more often..
    I'm giving it a 9...

Absolutely appaling song. Celiene Dion at her very worst. He's capable of so much better.

This song would have been a nice start to the Quarry album, not sure why it wasn't put in there
Anyway, great song, I hope he plays it live sometime

Friday Mourning & The Never Played Symphonies are the best things Morrissey has recorded since Vauxall & I...

except for Nobody Loves Us of course....Lost does come close to matching these two in my opinon

You really think Celine Dion would sing a song that says "YOU ARE A LOSER?"

    Please....

We should start a poll on how Celine Dion should be executed...

You haven't got them yet because you just haven't, or you didn't like You Are The Quarry?

It's also on Live At Earls Court

One of my favorites, but seems to feed that whole "Pope of Mope" cliche. "Look once to me, then look away"
"Dressed in black, I won't be coming back"
On first listen, and to the unseasoned (read: wit-challenged) listener, this seems like another, "Oh gee, here goes Morrissey again, high on his own misery"-type song. I find it hauntingly beautiful... It's actually my driving-to-work music!

I used to listen to on the way to work EVERY Friday Mourning....reminiscent of Unloveable...another excellent b-side

My favorite part is the whole "When they pull me down..." montage...he makes the words flow so well with the music...I'd like to see Celine try that!
