My grandad used to breed budgies when I was younger, and he had one in particular which stayed in the house, called Joe, he was a lovely little chap, he used to talk he could say "Hello Joe" and he sounded just like my grandad!

My Dad actually murdered Joey!

He was a bit under the weather so my Dad thought he would do a bit of DIY vet type job on him and gave the poor little thing an asprin crumbled up in his water...the poor little sod died of an overdose (Dad gave him a whole asprin!)....he flapped his little wings a bit and dropped down dead in the bottom of a cage. We only took him in in the first place as one of my Dads mates went into an old peoples home and he wasn't allowed pets! Sad...but TRUE!
