With no reason to talk about the books I read, but still I do...

Do you ever scan around Waterstone's or the library and feel uninspired by what's on offer?

Perhaps we can organise a reading list 'as recommended by Morrissey'? The man leaves clues all around to let us know which books he's been reading, so it would be helpful and very interesting to hear from the many, many sources what Moz has on his bookshelf. Does anyone know which book he is shown reading in the barn in the Suedehead video? - that's what I'm lookng for now.

Thanks.

The Backward Shadow

...mmmm well this just goes to show, doesn't it? I wasn't aware of these books and now I am, and from looking at the synopsises (?) I think I'll probably enjoy.

Of course everyone knows about 'Spend! Spend! Spend!' by Viv Nicholson. I don't think it's been in print for a long long time.

Re: The Backward Shadow

And then there's 'Suedehead' by Richard Allen. From a 1988 interview:

Did you read all the Richard Allen books? Skinhead, Suedehead, Smoothies...?
"Yes, they were quite risque little books at the time, certainly for 13-year-olds, who were the only people who read them. They were definitely to be hidden under the pillow."

By crikey Tingle, if your female I'm going to win you off and marry you. Love the Radclyffe Hall scan but please do check out her "Adam's Breed" much much better than her infamous "Well Of Loneliness".
