New Order

I think you guys give New Order a bum rap. They're quite possibly the most important band of the Eighties, definitely more than you guys seem to think of them. If you don't believe me, check out Brotherhood, Low-life, or any of their other albums. Johnny Marr likes them, hell he worked with one of them, so why the hell can't you guys admit they're a great band?

they are a cool band but joy division were far better

Dance Dance Dance

it seems as if it's near-impossible for alot of Smiths fans to admit that any dance/electronic band is any good. why is this?

is strictly-guitar based music the only standard for quality? i've always felt the opposite... that it's a tired medium & more people should embrace electronic music as an art form.

who is a great dance band if not New Order?

Did I miss something? Who said they weren't a good band? New Order is great-perfect for bit pop moods. Other bands I like that I think are vastly overlooked (atleast here in America) with a somewhat similar vain are The Lightning Seeds and House of Love.

'Perfect Kiss' is a great song.. New Order were pretty cool.. I don't recall anyone criticisng them? Anyway, they probably still are cool.. one of the few bands I have not seen..

I saw Peter Hooks Monaco at V97 in Chelmsford.. and I remember satnding ther in the afternoon Sun and watching Hookie with his low slung bass and thinking he was kind of a legend...

..but part of that legend was certainly the Joy Divison connnection..

I've always loved New Order. And in reference to you moniker, in 1989, I saw New Order, P.i.L. and the Sugarcubes on the same bill. Great show!

The mistake that most people make about New Order is that they are purely a dance group. There are tons of great guitar riffs all over their albums, esp. Lowlife and Brotherhood.
