Hateful Morrissey fan screws up John Edwards campaign

Edwards hired two Hard Left bloggers.

Catholic groups, The New York Times, The Washignton Post, ABC News' Terry Moran, and bloggers such as Michelle Malkin raised a stink over the hateful content of their personal blogs (Pandagon and Shakespeare's Sister), particularly (but not limited to) vulgar rants against Catholics.

Terry Moran asked: "Does John Edwards condone hate speech?"

Catholic groups and many others call them bigots and were outraged Edwards would staff his campaign with such vileness.

Then they were busted airbrushing hateful posts from their archives.

Edwards responded:

The tone and the sentiment of some of Amanda Marcotte's and Melissa McEwan's posts personally offended me. It's not how I talk to people, and it's not how I expect the people who work for me to talk to people. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that kind of intolerant language will not be permitted from anyone on my campaign....

He said - after pressure mounted from Hard Left blogger allies of the two - that he was for second chances.

Then the campaign of an unnamed rival Democrat candidate (probably Hillary) said Edwards was more afraid of bloggers than Catholic voters.

Shortly thereafter, Marcotte had to resign from her new job. Shortly after that, McEwan did likewise.



Disgraced hatemonger Melissa McEwan of Shakespeare's Sister is a massive, obsessive, lifelong Morrissey/Smiths fan. She may be on this site, too.



So...a hardcore and Hard Left Morrissey fan went to work on the Edwards campaign to save the world. She turned out to be too radioactive and full of intolerance to last a week, leaving Edwards bruised and Hillary loving life.

I have seen for years what hate-filled, intolerant people Morrissey's Hard Left fans can be. It's good to know such people are still unfit for proper society.

As an atheist who's often unjustly called an anti-Islamic "bigot," part of me felt sympathy for at least the comments mocking Catholics these two deranged bloggers posted.


They're unworthy of sympathy.

They call people like me an anti-Islamic "bigot" simply because I hate Islamo-Nazi terrorists who mass-murder all over the world. Their own sites repeatedly refer to heroic anti-Islamo-Nazi sites as "fascist, such as Little Green Footballs (on which I'm a registered commenter). Moreover, unlike them, I carefully limit my hate to those within Islam who actually deserve it.

And I cannot respect airburshing archives and promising to censor one's own thoughts in order to move-on-up into the political establishment. Pathetic sell-outs.

Furthermore, what these two were posting was juvenile, dumb, and needlessly vulgar for two adults seeking to be serious political writers:

Looking at other things they've been up to, such as their continuing lynch mob against the Duke lacrosse players falsely accused of rape long after everyone knew they had been falsely accused, they are fully revealed...

I had to listen to how the poor, dear lacrosse players at Duke are being persecuted just because they held someone down and f***** her against her will--not rape, of course, because the charges have been thrown out. Can't a few white boys sexually assault a black woman anymore without people getting all wound up about it? So unfair.

...as evil bitches. And also bigoted against white males.

For any of the lefty Morrissey fans wanting John Edwards' anti-war presidential campaign to be a success, you have one of your own to thank for his recent stumble, with the seed planted that he staffs his offices with hatemongers.

I thought this Morrissey fan turned nationally-infamous and disgraced hatemonger should be noted somewhere on SoLow.

P.S. If anyone cares to comment on what is "bigotry" - what kinds of hate against what sorts of targets make one a "bigot" - feel free to put in your two cents.

Theo has a point. And if Edwards can't control his relatively small campaign team, then how would he fare in a more responsible position? Not well, not well. Another one bites the dust, reminding me of Ralph Nader's "least of the worst" quote.

Politics is an ugly, ugly business. In America campaigns seem more about sledging your opponents than selling your own vision.
