I agree....so rude! You don't ask a person with a huge MOLE on their face why it's there...or to describe it in detail...but journalists are dispicable people, it's their profession to ask questions civil people are too affraid or cultured to ask.
do you understand, sir, do you understand what it means when you have absolutely nowhere to turn..for every man must have somewhere to turn

lol Duchess, I intend on being a journalist ... I promise to do all in my power to interview The Man, and to not be despicable or rude to him . Rather, I will adopt the manner of a quietly obsessive fangirl and try to ask intelligent questions. Some journalists are despicable... but not all
"I think both me and Morrissey are about as proud as anyone can be about those records. I'm proud of everything the band did, and I'm proud of the relationship, and I'm proud of the friendship. I don't have any feud going on. I support what Andy's doing, and I don't know what Morrissey's doing but I'm behind it." - Johnny Marr, 2013.

Exactly! The one that bugs me is from "I Have Forgiven Jesus": "Forgive me any pain I may have brung to you." Aren't we taught at about age 3 or 4 that "brung" just ain't right, no matter how analogous it is to "rung"?

I like his jaw, lisp and whatever other imperfections because perfect toothpaste-ad type faces are boring and never very sexy!
yes, this moz-jaw is pretty frinky - so this could very well turn into the frink thread number 2!

It's a bit of a rave from the grave, bringing this one back up, but - for those that may be interested - there was a piece in today's Independent newspaper in Britain about regional accents, which we dwelled on in this thread a month or so back.

The web-link to the piece is below, but I don't know if the newspaper leaves their articles on indefinitely.

I have never understood about Morrissey's lisp. I cannot and have never heard it. Also he doesn't speak with a Mancunian accent. Listen to the Gallaghers or Shaun Ryder. Moz has a slight Lancastrian accent but with definate Irish undertones to it, obviously from his parents.

His lisp was more pronounced when he was younger. It's more so a lisp on 'th' sounds, rather than 's'. Interesting to hear what both you and Wilde Oscar have to say about his accent, as I find it very curious. Unfortunately, I can't see the article Wilde Oscar.

You've never heard it because it doesn't exist. People that say he has a lisp maybe have never heard someone with a real lisp.

Well I have got some early interviews on tape, so I will go back and have another listen, but I'm still very doubtful!

    1) No lisp at all...
    2) His jaw, yes, it looks many times or depending the angle as an "underbite", but believe me no man with a REAL underbite could look a third of the sexy Morrissey does... I don't care... There's no man sexier and manlier than Morrissey...
    3) I've always liked, since I was a kid, older men, always always always. So Duchess and lost sister, I'm in your club too... At your age I also found men my age so disguting, full of pimples, greasy skin and most of all, total jerks, nerds, idiots, just pale sketches of a real man... That's why I like so much more this Morrissey, compared to the young Steven. He's gained so much with his gray hair and a wrinkle here and there... He's become the man of my dreams, completely.
