Well, that's great. You have the right attitude. It's rare to find people with 'good' taste in music.

Maybe a slight lisp but i liked the way he used to talk, nothing wrong with it! It was all part of 'Morrissey'!

YOU TOO???? People think I'm nuts for going crazy over british accents. Especially Moz's, which I have to say has a touch of an Irish accent, just a bit. Doesn't it just make you melt?? Well, it does for me.

    No, it isn't.

There are so many different British accents, do you find them all sexy, or just some of them? Which one do you find sexy - RP? Cockney? Mancunian? Scottish?

I know that lots of people find RP sexy, but I just don't get it. I don't like RP to start with. As for accents, it all depends on the person.

RP??? I know a few who have beautiful mancunian accents. Where would you classify Moz's accent as?

well for me, being in america, hearing almost any accent is so fascinating, i mean besides the fact that it sounds so much more articulate, i love traveling and i love talking to europeans much more than many americans, atleast the ones around me.

as for morrissey, he has a very slight lisp, but not where the 's' sounds like 'th', i dont really find much wrong with his speech, and if there are any faults then its probably due to his underbite, but i love him all the same.
im really getting sick of my boyfriend..and note the boy part of boyfriend. ugh, what are we women to do?

I'm not sure, I'm afraid I'm still not such an expert I can classify the obvious, typical examples of each of those accents, but many people's accents are somewhere in between.

But as an earlier thread showed, others aren't sure where to classify Morrissey's accent either:

    Anyway, seriously...

I don't think Moz has an accent, as such. I would say that an accent clearly identifies and links a person with a particular geographical area.

Moz clearly has traces, elements, etc - i.e. the north and the Irish linkages - but no clear 'Manc' (sorry, Mancunian for the non-Brits here) overtones.

I am an idiot, you know. Just been told it's Received Pronunciation - I think that's something close to what Moz has, isn't it?

You are not an idiot. I much preferred what you said Rait was. Dunno if he has it or no, but i just like the way he sounds when he talks.
