My iPod is eternally fucked up now, I think... It's not even turning on. I think I might cry... I've gotten quite attched to it...

I have a 60 gig video ipod. I have my whole CD collection stored on it including lots of Morrissey and Smiths bootlegs and lots of moz/smiths videos, concerts, interviews and thousands of pictures.

I've finally got it out of the box (so to speak) and thus after getting confused with the eject instructions (I have finally worked it out) I now need o how long they take to charge up on your initial run. Thanks very much.

I used to have a Spectrum 48k with rubber keys and Football Manager (GOAL GOAL GOAL) so I know what I'm doing with computers.

I'm glad you're all sorted. Mine had a hissy fit and froze yesterday and I got really scared because I've only had it a few weeks and I thought it was dead. I saved the Russell/Morrissey interview someone kindly put in the downloads section, and it just froze on me. Luckily, the battery died quickly and when I charged it it was fine.

I think mine would be fine if I could get the computer to accept it... Any ideas?

What is it saying when you plug it in?

Lor, that sucks. You might try charging it off a wall socket because maybe there's some problem with your computer recognizing it?? Also, try the ipod junkie forums, there are some good tips on there. Good luck anyway. I'd die without mine; it makes being dissociative so much less troublesome.

May I have your advice...good people of this ere forum?

After a long longggg time and much thought I will be purchasing an ipod. However, if you have a look at these prices from PC World (UK) there doesn't seem to be much difference between the 30GB ipod Video and the 8GB ipod Black Nano, why is this?

After fishing around I seem to be able to get the new Black Nano (8GB) for about £150, which appears to be the same price as the 30GB Video on the PC World site.

    Any thoughts?

Not sure why that is to be honest, it might because the Nano is in high demand and the price hasn't fallen because of that. If I'm not mistaken the Video Ipod is one of the most recent addition. That's just my guess, usually when something sells so well the price doesn't drop, I am probably wrong though. You could just wait another six or so months until you purchase the 8GB Ipod Nano, but the chances are Ipod will release something new by that period of time. You could look around a bit more, as I’m sure there are better mp3’s about, but if you have your heart set on the Nano, go for it!

Is the bigger one being shown at a price lower than it should be? If so, print it off, take it in and demand it at that price. They actually don't really leagally have to give it to you at that price I don't think, but most companies would do it.

    Hey,

I got a blue Ipod 4GB Nano for Xmas.
It was a very cool surprise, from a friend too!
Now, to download Itunes and start downloading. However, my friend told me I can download my CDs and Vinyls. How does one do that and does it cost?

No it does not cost. First, go to the site that it gives you in the instruction manual and download itunes software. Than, you put a cd in the computer and it gives you the option to download it in itunes. Say yes, click on import cd (bottom right corner) and it does it. When you connect your ipod to the computer, it puts the cd on it. Easy!!! If I can do it anypne can!
