Talking Translation of the news about Morrissey's arrival to Guadalajara, MX

Ok all this is gonna be almost literal. And I must warn that the Spanish writing here is already kind of akward so I hope you can understand the sense the reporter wanted for the text.

Llega Morrissey con toda su sobriedad
Morrissey Arrives with all his sobriety

The man who gave a meaning to the life of the maladjusted, sings today in the VFG
    Guadalajara, México (14 noviembre 2006).-

November poured over Morrissey a copious drizzle upon his arrival to Miguel Hidalgo de Guadalajara International Airport, today around 19:45 pm.

The ex Smiths wore a grey sweater and over the collar, a black shirt and a gold necklace stuck out. The sweater was covered by a black jacket.

The singer arrived from Los Angeles carrying only a black handbag and a white plastic bag.

Part of his staff and the members of the band walked first through the International Arrival doors, several of them with the same Morrissey hairstyle, and soon after the singer showed up, very neat, and his face barely showed a smile.

He was immediately approached by local artist Scott Neri, who handed him a small format lithography and asked him an autograph.

Morrissey gave him the signature and exited immediately the airport, escorted by OCESA Jalisco personnel, airport police and a guarura(can't possibly figure out what TH this means) going to the outside where a black Cadillac was waiting for him.

There, the steady rain and the night started to cool, no wonder it was an inspiring moment for a continuation of the melancholic and heart-rending "November Spawned a Monster".

Living icon. That's how the BBC called him. "The Elvis of the Gay community" is another of his names. ¿Who is this man? One of the few persons whom the audience only needs one word to recognize: Morrissey.

Steven Patrick are the first names of this musician, born in Manchester, England, who has been tasted direct or indirectly by you.

Since his begining with The Smiths, rock band formed in 1982 with Johnny Marr, his work has influenced thousands of musicians and even some of the most revered idols of the world have declare him The King.

Artists like Pete Yorn, who was at certain point called Morrissey's clone, even faked an English accent.

His fanbase includes Oasis, Pulp and Suede, some of the bands that inherited the sound founded by Morrissey, that was renamed as Britpop.

But, ¿what does "the son and heir of nothing in particular" -like he procclaimed himself in the most famous Smiths' single "How Soon is Now"- have to become the target of such a worship?

The answer is simple: If you ever felt out of place, a weirdo, a total freak, well, Morrissey also felt it. And even more, he gave you, the freak of the class, or you, the rebel girl with a crazy haircut and piercings all over your face, a feeling of belonging.

Morrissey will perform today at the Arena VFG, at 20:30 pm.

There are still available 300 and 450 pesos seats and they are for sale on Ticketmaster. The event will have a bus service that will leave from La Minerva, La Normal and Plaza del Sol every half an hour starting 16:30 pm, at 7 pesos the one way trip.

Ladies and Gentlemen there you go Uufff!! I'm tired!!

Thanks for that, most useful for those of us whose Spanish is a little rusty.

If Jarvis ever was, he certainly wasn't after Moz claimed "[Jarvis] isn't a patch on me."

Ceci, is that your own picture in your avatar?

Would love to visit your country one day. Is this really what your city looks like? Quite amazing.

Unfortunately 90% of the mentions Chile gets in the news are in relation to Pinochet. Why won't he die already? (that's a rhetorical question -- you don't need to answer!)

I just read an article about it. Morrissey can be kinda rude from time to time. He doesn't just say he doesn't like pulp, he has to rip into them too.

Moz does get a little defensive when a group's fanbase crosses over into his (ie. Suede, Pulp). Though he never criticised Gene and said Martin Rossiter was a good singer (I was surprised to read on the front page the other day that he's a vocal coach now).

King Leer: yes, that's my own photo in my avatar.

That picture is right my city in autumn... But I must make clear that we suffer from a terrible air pollution and that picture must probably have been taken after the rain... Then I must say that Santiago RIGHT after the rain is the most beautiful city in the world. We have the wonderful Los Andes right there, but that beauty is also our ruin: We are corraled in, locked in, surrounded by mounts and mountains, so the air doesn't flow and we breathe smog most of the year In spite of that sad fact, mine is beautiful city.

And Pinochet... Well, he's still alive but quite dead for us, as well. I'm fed up with the subject...

King: are you Japanese? Do you really live in Tokyo!! We sould make an exchange!! I die for visiting Tokyo!! I've been only to Narita on my way to China. But I was dying for make a stop there, which sadly wasn't possible.
