American Sniper

It is weird how different people can view films. All I read about this film was that it was some kind of macho propaganda and it is as far away from that as you can possibly come. This film is about war syndrome and what it does to someone involved in war. I know it is based on a mans life and all that happened but it does not portray him as a macho hero or some untouchable and instead concentrates on the difficulties facing the men and women serving the army. It is clear to me that the old american film propaganda machine is dead and gone and that we are now getting human stories about people made of flesh and blood. It would have been easy for Clint Eastwood to portray this guy as a hardened thousand yard stare man that died a hero but instead he chose to make him human and vulnerable.
 
My mother in law kept banging on about 50 shades of grey, i figured it's for women that don't get any. Smutty Mills and Boon innit.

Imitation Game......3 out of 4 stars. Good, entertaining flick.

The Secret Life of Pippa Lee

Nice to have such an amazing film as this one to view now several years later. I am weak for this type of film that pans out over many years of the characters lives and old issues and stuff surface. Would have loved to see more of Julianne Moore as the diesel dyke and less of Keanu Reeves showing off his gynecomastia and acne back. The ladies in this are gorgeous and fascinating and it is rare with films that are not dull anywhere through it.

The Captive

The most creepy film so far about a paedophile ring. Gloomy and without any real physical abuse as it is the mental part of it that grabs hold of you. There is even an interesting claim from the missing girls dad that would make some illuminati theorists take note. Kevin Durand was a new face for me and shows his acting skills without even having to say a word so that was impressive. The only annoying part was the leaps back and forward in time which could have been done better.

About a ouija board that only managed to get me bored. These films only serve one purpose and that is for young girls to get closer to their boyfriends pretending to be scared.

Brilliant political documentary, if you're interested how we got to where we are now (well, the US in particular) then this is a must see, 10/10

The Woman in the Fifth

Ethan Hawke in glasses lost in France trying to get in touch with his daughter. The dude from Poland that did this one picked up an award at the latest Oscars and includes a polish girl in this one. I guess if you are from Poland you wanna tell the world about Poland although no one wants to know. This film tries to be something it just cannot be and that seems to be the judgement from many others in regard to the director.

Friends With Kids

This starts out as a cheesy comedy but halfway through it magic appears when it actually turns into a tale about life experience and what love truly is about and involves. I was pleasently surprised that a comedy dared to change direction and turn into something else. About the inevitable changes that come with having kids although one couple try to arrange the perfect setup to avoid the usual setbacks.
 
Not gonna lie...kinda wanna go see Hot Tub Time Machine II. Lovely rainy evening. Should do laundry first. (Is it even still in theaters? Lol. I should see the Kingsmen, all my trusted sources recommend it as worthshile schlock.)

Um, the person who made the film is a Capitalist. Get yourself off Fox News and watch it and you'd find out for yourself.
 
i dont want to be a man (1918 silent)

was really good but i love a good silent film.

am now watching

how to be a man (which is really good so far and i would recommend it to all. music is great imo)

im wondering how many movies i can get in today with man somewhere in the title

funny about kingsman. there was a mark millar, wrote kick ass , who released a graphic novel about this a the subtitle was kingsman. wonder if its a rip or if he got some adaptation credit

man blood ties blew me away. best film ive seen in a long time. embarrassingly good and i can now tell why all the actors agreed to be in it. just watched the iceman which was pretty good. am now watching hot pursuit as a mild blank movie before i watch the believer with ryan gossling
 
oh man i now remember why i dont remember hot pursuit. its terrible.
