    Lady in the Water (2006)

It appeared on the tv-programme as a thriller, I wouldn't actually call it a thriller, maybe a tale. It's a beautiful movie, very nicely done.
And I heard so many things I failed to understand at all

Chloe (voice of DREW BARRYMORE), a diamond-clad, bootie wearing Beverly Hills Chihuahua enjoys her luxurious lifestyle so much, she hardly notices Papi (voice of GEORGE LOPEZ), a tough looking Chihuahua who happens to be head-over-paws for the pampered pooch. But when Chloe gets lost in the rough streets of Mexico with only a street-wise German Shepherd (voice of ANDY GARCIA) to help her find her way home, Papi heads south of the border -- joining forces with a motley crew: two humans (PIPER PERABO, MANOLO CARDONA), a sly rat (voice of CHEECH MARIN) and a nervous iguana (voice of PAUL RODRIGUEZ) - to rescue his true love.

I didn't know what to expect, I hadn't even seen any previews...imagine my delight to see talking dogs!!! love! Nice little story. I thought it was really cute I even got weepy in a few heart-warming spots Of course my kids want a chihuahua now I remember when they wanted a dalmation

Drew is perfect to voice that adorable little dog. And hello, Manolo Cardona

Oh, I saw a trailer for the Adam Sandler movie, (Disney's) Bedtime Stories, and see that Russell Brand is in it. Not that I planned to see it anyway...

I agree completely. I thought this was a really magical film and really brave cinema. I just bought it on HD DVD. Glad other people liked it as it died a very quick death at the cinema.

Wasn't that a Shyamalan flick? I had heard bad reviews but I thought it looked pretty scary. I think I'll rent it sometime. Thx.

I thought it was a weird movie, but Adam Ant's acting was very enjoyable. It tells the tale of the Queen travelling to the present involving a group of punk kids going on with their wild lives. It also features an appearance by Siouxsie and the Banshees, just before they hit it big.

Second time I've seen this. I just wish Disney would return making traditional animated films involving fairy tales than just those crazy CGI films, all about robots, etc.

I just watched the latest Stephen King DVD.

Oh shit, I can't remember what it was called now, but it was about
a hotel room that was haunted.
A horror story writer goes and stays in it and it was about what happens
    to him.
It was so scary that after watching it for twenty minutes I had to turn it off
and watch the rest of it at daytime......
    I must be getting wimpy....

    Suicide Circle/Club
It was beyond disturbing. But I love Japanese horror films like that. (Battle Royale too!) A lot of people comment on how the blood looks orange, but that just adde to the almost...surrealism of it all.
It's about a sudden outbreak of violent suicides across Japan. (and by violent, I mean violent. the opening scene is 54 schoolgirls jumping onto traintracks as a train comes by.), and the police are trying to figure out why it's happening.
It's terribly good movie, and the ending is...really disturbing. but definitely now one of my favorite movies.

The Duke: We fascists are the only true anarchists.

Not a film you could say you enjoy or found entertaining, unless you are quite 'odd' in your search for fulfillment. Notorious and banned in many countries for its content, Salo tells the story of a village in fascist Italy during the second world war and how the four heads of this village ( The duke, the bishop, the magistrate, the president) kidnap the best looking 18 young men & women and subject them to their debauched desires, which are aroused each day by four old prostitute's own tales. So one segment shows coprophagia, where one woman is forced to eat the fecas of the Duke, which leads into the the Circle of Feces, where everyones shit is served on plates, much to the capture's delight and disgust of the captives. I was reading that Pier Paolo Pasolini, saw this as a metaphor of mass produced food. The last segment shows the murder by raping, hanging, scalping, branding, tongue and the eyes cut out of any of the captives, who broke the rules.

The film explores the exploitation of power, be from the heads of state under the Nazi rule or the guards (young men from the village) of the captives who feel their can join in the humiliation by rape or spitting in their faces. Their statues of power given to them, also gives them a distance and dispassion towards their victims. Where the environment of the mansion is set outside the morals of their village. Any romance or affection seen by the heads of state are treated with harsh acts. A number of the captives, while trying to protect themselves from punishment, reveals to them what others are doing that break the laws of the 'libertines'. This leads to the execution of a young guard and one of the maids while found in bed together. Sex and death are clearly linked to the themes of this film. It isn't titillating and is void of any normal exoticism. There isn't any passion, but just brutality.

The last part of the film is the the Circle of Blood, where the murders take place. This for the viewer isn't shown up close but though the binoculars as the heads of the state take turns in the torture and being the witness. These acts are seen as very voyeuristic for the character and the viewer, as we as the audience are placed in the same position to watch these acts. We are not watching them as a third person but through the eyes of the men in power, which makes it more disturbing.

You watched it! That thing of nazi skins becoming cops happens here as well, I have some mates and when they got arrested, the police took their details and then like, a week later their address', photos and phone numbers turn up in this neo-nazi magazine. Scary shit.

The ending is so, so sad.

I watched 'Creep' last night. It was truely awful, but at least I got my darlek finished! it was just such a stupid film. It started off fairly well, but the plot was stupidly vague, and I think it would have been more successful if you'd never seen the 'thing' that was responsible for the murders.

On Sunday night I watched 'saw2' it was quite good, but utterly grusome. I missed the first one, I'm going to borrow it from a friend and see how I think it compares.

Watched two Sherlock Holmes TV-movies produced by Granada. The Eligible Bachelor wasn't so good, but The Hound Of The Baskervilles was a rather good adaption from the book. Jeremy Brett never stoppes to amaze me as Holmes.
