What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I've seen it many times before, but I love it more each time. I'm in love with Leonardo DiCaprio's retarded character Arnie. My ultimate dream is to marry him and become Mrs. Arnie Grape.

    Syriana (2005)
    Director:
    Stephen Gaghan

i had to sit down and watch this film and re watch parts of it three times. it a quite complicated, well acted film. clooney won his oscar and it has matt damon...who i still can't take serious after watching his puppet in "team America".
    worth watching.

Fando y Lis (dir Alejandro Jodorowsky 1967)

Jodorowsky's debut feature is a real stunner.
It's a loose adoptation of Fernando Arrabal's play, Fando and his disabled girlfriend Lis' search of a mythical city Tar.
Instead of using conventional narrative Jodorowsky put series of surrealistic encounters:bourgeois people partying in a ruins with a burning piano, zombies lying in mud, a pope nursed by a pregnant woman, transvestites seducing Fando, lustful elderly women gambling over a young man, sadistic women armed with bowling balls and a doctor draws blood from Lis and drinks from a wine glass.
No wonder it caused a riot during Acapulco Film Festival in 1968.

    Huh?
Do you have any other vocabulary to describe those films?

I love watching films made in late 60s particularly the ones never been released in Japan.
Some of the recent discoveries are "Fruit of Paradise" by Vera Chytilova, "Birds, Orphans and Fools" by Juraj Jakubisko and "The Key to Determinating Dwarfs, or the Last Voyage of Lemuel Gulliver" by Pavel Juracek.

    Closer (2004/I)
    Director:
    Mike Nichols

    Writers
    Patrick Marber

strongly acted by all four cast members strangely enough, frank dialogue, which didn't seem contrived in their arguments during their failing relationships. i felt I was diverting between who i felt sorry for. the one person who needed the stability of a partner in their life, is the one who can walk away!
Also a nice movie to watch with someone too .

Yesterday I took my son and his friend to see Mr. Bean's Holiday.
It was really funny and good to watch something without
sex, violence or swearing for a change.
