    Default Head in the clouds....

What's the most romantic thing someone has ever done for you? How did you react?

On freezing cold mornings my other half gets in the car five minutes before we have to set off for work and gets the heater going so it's all warm when I get in. He also did the overnight queueing for the Morrissey tickets for this tour and came to see him with me three times even though he's not mad about Mozzer. (Although out of sheer necessity he has started to like Moz more and more in the same way that Patti Hearst started sympathising and robbing banks with her captors.)
That's my kind of romance even though I do get the flowers and stuff too.

I came back from a holiday spent with one man, to find the other man waiting for me at the railway station with no resentment, just a smile and a kiss and an offer to carry my bags. Needless to say, reader, I married him.

Just for you, Sir Alec, I asked the hubby what was, in turn, the most romantic thing I ever did for him. He said "Getting off that train and into my arms". I hated to point out that Hull is a terminus and I didn't have much choice, but.......

21 years last month. Serial killers get less than that.

Hubby says "Brief encounter? But I wasn't wearing any briefs!"

I could say making a large romantic dinner, setting some candles, watching his/her favorite movie, a long massage, and a long bath, but that doesn't count...

    I do it sooo much.

I think the most fully romantic thing I've ever done is take a plane across the country to try and win someone back, but that didn't work at all, and it really destroyed the last shred of self-confidence in my body.

How romantic! Life ain''t no movie.

Ah, but that's love, you see; waiting on a chilly northern railway platform wi' the wind whipping round yer nethers for the one you love to come tumbling off the train with a rucksack of duty-free Yugoslav cherry brandy. (Sounds like a lyric from a Morrissey/Victoria Wood co-write. )

Yes, I soon got his cockles warmed again, bless!

Underwear Olympics? Now there's a thought.....

I've had some lovely romantic experiences, but I've never felt that feeling of absolute happiness until, well... I guess the past weeks could work.
