Thanks. This will probably sound silly, but your comments gave me a little boost of confidence yesterday. I had been fine all week, but in the afternoon I started freaking out. For some reason though, an hour before I had to go my fear suddenly turned into giddy excitement, like the feeling I get right before I see a concert. I listened to Franz Ferdinand and Soft Cell on the way to keep the good feeling going. When I got there it was really cold and I was so nervous and excited and couldn't stop shivering and I was thinking "Oh my god, oh my god! What if I can't do it? But no, I have practiced it I can do it." Then I got on stage thirty minutes later and I did great. I was told after that the guy I had been sitting behind before I went on rocked out to the song. It felt so good.

Well done,that must have felt good and great for your confidence.I'd have been bricking it

Nope. My guitar teacher sang and played first guitar (acoustic), her husband played drums and sang back vocals, and I played second guitar (electric) and the guitar solo version of the bagpipe solo.

I don't usually dwell on this stuff, but I have had in many ways a really fucked up life. And I'm too tired to say "I need help. I need to be held. I need to not fight." I'm so tired. I've been protected though, from a life that could've been supremely fucked up. And I want to honor my protector. And so I find myself stuck between putting my foot down and saying I can't do this anymore and doing my duty of being supportive. And having this all wrapped up in a package of insanity and easily dismissed, these real feelings. I'm a mess.

It depends on what you are doing there. It probably would have saved people more if you stayed home, but I understand that when you are sick it gets so boring at home. To avoid getting other people sick you should do this:
-Wash your hands before you start touching their stuff.
-Avoid touching your mouth, nose, or anywhere else on your face unless your are going to wash your hands after
-If you have to cough or sneeze do it directly into the arm of your sleeve. (I found out about this somewhere. It was in a video, I can't remember what it was, and they said the germs are supposed to die eventually on your sleeve.) Do not cough or sneeze into your hand unless you are going to wash your hands after.

I was sick a little while ago and I had to follow these rules at home to avoid getting my sister and parents sick. (My choice. I hate getting sick so I try to prevent getting other people sick.) It can get annoying but oh well.
