And I'm a bit of a technotard so I usually used the mac in a very traditional way, (with the mouse and pull down windows) but if you're savvy, there are a lot of very useful "quick key commands" that you can learn on the mac that make it perform amazingly.

To be honest I am not very tech-savvy, I'm happy already when everything works. And if Macs really are as reliable and solid as I've heard...then I guess I'll be very happy!

You'll never have to answer pop-up windows telling you to do a virus scan or to update your security monitoring software or whatever, it's not invasive like a pc, you just turn it on and it works. You'll like it.

Mac is the way to go, after years of being like everyone else
I changed to Mac in early 06 and have not regretted it one bit
But if you do not want to spend "the max" on your 1st one, a good way to go is getting a refurbished one from Apple.
Those prices tend to come down at the start of a new year.

My only beef with the mac was the iSight camera, I'm an Orwellian at heart and have schizophrenic blood in my veins so I'd recommend a band-aid over the lens for peace of mind. Otherwise it's a fantastic camera, takes bright, beautiful, clear photos.

Thanks everybody for even more Mac-advice! I'm still quite convinced that wat one, found a MacBook for a prize that's ok, it's the cheapest I could find.

But what the heck is an iSight camera (that some people tape over ) ???! Considering what everybody said, it must be something scary. Is it a webcam that just films you without asking and presents you on the internet right after getting up, without make up on, wearing a bathing gown or running around naked? That would be my ultimate nightmare!

Does anyone else thing that Golden Lights is really bad? And if they just got rid of the stupid voice distortion it would make it much better? That and make the guitars a bit more prominent and not sissy sounding like it is. Just saying.
