And no Texas dates at all! Can you believe the nerve of that man?
One must have a very judicial mind, indeed, not to be prejudiced against the German-Americans because their hearts are reeking with disloyalty.

so do you think that is why the album failed then ?
the Ann Arbor 1997 show was my first show. I was in row 3 (at times row 2--depending how much people are pushing). it was a great way to be introduced to a morrissey show--up front and personal.
I had a chance to see morrissey in detroit back in either 1991 0r 1992 (whichever is the correct year)...Let me tell you a sad story lads. I was only around 13...my sister is home from college (45 minutes away so no big deal) to meet a high school friend to go see Morrissey at the Palace of Auburn Hills. her friend can;t make it. So my sister asks me and my twin brother to go. but only one of us could go. Here;s the thiing, my brotehr never liked morrissey or smiths and never will. he just wanted to go hang out with big sis. Well he "called it first" and i was like, you know i like Morrissey and the Smiths. My sister told my mom to butt in. my mom took my brother's side and insisted i'll go next time with my sister. "But mom, I don't give a fuck about next time. Stephen [my brother] can go the next 3 times with my sister. He doesn't care about morrisey." and realize i was the only rational person there and yet i was losing the argument. i was convinced my family doesn't love me and they are trying to torment me.
well to this day whenever i think i about i fill up with hatred toward my family. Makes sense doesn't it?
they said the show wasn't so good since they had terrible mic troubles--and Passinsjustlikemine.com confirms this. but still...

Anyone remember how muddy it was, trudging away from Battersea that night? Brought a few fanzines if i remember correctly...Ohh those were the days.
Happy memories from the Battersea show. I was kind of dissapointed that it wasn't actually inside the power station. Spent a couple of hours beforehand in a really decrepid pub opposite the power station. It must have been the busiest day of the year for the landlord as it was crammed with moz fans! It was a bit ramshackled and run by an ageing rocker - does anyone else remember I wonder? No doubt it's been bulldozes by now.
Hmm I was at Battersea too. Funny old event wasn't it - sponsored by the Midland Bank, whatever happened to that? - and was in a huge temporary arena. I remember being taken aback by some of Moz's choices for the intro tape. One of them was "Young Gifted and Black" if I'm not much mistaken. Great tunes, but not what I was expecting.
Elka were the supporting band.
