Have you had your picture taken with Moz?

I'd really like to see some!

I haven't - chance would be a fine thing!

While I'm working out how to do that, I'll share a small story.

I'm from a town called Rawtenstall in the Rossendale Valley. 2 miles from here is Haslingden. The first time I met Moz was in 1999 at his mum's house and we talked a lot about where I was from. He told me that he used to hang out with a friend of his in Haslingden and did I know it.

Annnnyyyyywayyy. He asked me to spell Rawtenstall and that he'd remember me and the town because we'd joked about it sounding like Rotten Stall.

Don;t forget that this was in the barren years for Moz.

So not only does it turn out that while I was in my bedroom listening to The Smiths, Moz was less that 10 minutes away but imagine my suprise when this showed up.

Great story ^^^^ and superbly witty interview that I had nearly forgotten.

I have had my photo taken with Moz at the Birmingham NIA gig from 2004 - he was on stage and I was in the crowd - from the angle of the photo you can see both of us ;) .

Sorry I know that's cheating but it's mathematically and scientifically correct :) .

Thanks for the story! You'll never believe it, I have a funny thing for you 'That's Enough For Me'!
Go to the main page of the general discussions and look at the 15th page of the "Unusual" photgraphs of Morrissey - thread, you'll see the article you were talking about! I started that discussion about 'Why is Moz lying on the floor?' and someone else posted that article!

Yep, that's the one. I was in ASDA when I picked up that copy of Q to glance through, it came as quite the nice surprise.

I'll post the photos when I get time.

yeah, and that's how I found that picture - through this post of the rotten stall story! when i saw it, i just had to add it to that "lying on the floor" conversation in the unusual pics thread because it was so perfect for that

Of the twice I've met Moz, I had pictures taken once.

How do you post them if they are simply on your pc and not hosted on another website?

Actually, you can just upload the photos (stored on your computer) directly to your post by using the "Attach Files" option that appears under the "Addtional Options" that is below the window of the message you are writing. This way they go straight from your computer to your post as an attachment, and you don't have to use photobucket or similar hosting site.

I'll be back to look for it!!

Sorry but I can't find it on my laptop - I'll have to ask my g/f to blue-tooth it from her phone again. due to excessive socialising plans this weekend it may be Sunday/Monday before I do this

The story is a couple of posts above.

This was taken on a rainy Manchester Saturday afternoon in January 1999. I was with Moz at his mum's house, which I think she has moved from now, I'm not sure. We talked about a lot of stuff, Specific song meanings, Tony Wilson, Rawtenstall, Dublin, Touring, Teenage feelings etc and we took a couple of pictures of which the above was one.

This was the first time I'd spoken to Moz directly and not through an intermediary and the major thing, being a fan myself, is that he didn't let me down. When he was talking to his mum and when he was talking to me he was exactly as I hoped he would be, funny, shy, extremely polite...almost to a fault.

We had one further occasion where we met at his mum's house about 18 months later and then the career re-ignited and he spent more time away. But I have nothing but good to speak of my personal experience of Moz and that goes for Boz, Alain, Gary, Linder, Jesse and even Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce whom I've been able to speak at some length to. I've never run into Johnny Marr.

The music...is another issue =)

Fantastic picture. Glad you posted it for us!

But you got me curious. On the two occasions you met with Moz at his mum's house, how did you manage that? Did you happen to hear he was there and stop by? Or was it some sort of prearranged meeting because you knew the right people who set it up? Or something else?
