Perhaps you're right about him being a 4. I think what I'm doing is trying to compare him to an extremely unhealthy 4 that I knew. She was completely self obsessed, drama queen, the world revolved around her, little or no empathy for others. Morrissey doesn't seem like that to me. The Morrissey I see is very introverted, bookish, a homebody which is a characteristic of 5's. But you're right, after reading an older interview he does seem to take on 4ishness more so than 5. It's important to realize that we are ALL the personality types all day long, it's just choosing the one that most describes you is to say that you feel most at home in that type, it's where you go when you're comfortable and relaxed. The enneagram is an amazing tool, not just a parlour game. (I love saying that!)

It's true what you say about being all the types at various times of day. That's one reason I like the Myers-Briggs more, I think. Generally, though, I'm not sure how keen I am on any personality test because I don't like to be put into a box. (I originally typed "boz"... I don't want to be put in one of those either. I'm Morrissey's girl, after all!)
Also, I think the Myers-Briggs INFPs and INFJs match more of us up with Morrissey than the Ennegram test does... which is nice. I like being like him to some degree. Though, now that I'm more aware of the parts of his personality that I share with him that are dysfunctional, I'm not quite as happy about it as I once was. D:
