As for the difference between stealing and posting in a messsage board, I don't see it. It's both taking and using something that isn't yours. You saved it to your account when you didn't shoot the photo nor otherwise had the rights to it. Just because it's so easy to take does not mean it's rightfully yours.

I'm just irked when I know that it's pointless for me to ask on this thread which concert the photo was taken and by whom. No one ever seems to know. They just right-click and are on their merry way to fantasizing about his Mozness.

I've been trying to put the credits into my img tags when I can. But Mel, it can be hard. Not every site has it available. And sometimes people change the original names when they save it into their own photobucket accounts. I'm sorry, but I am going to say that alot of us do try to give credit where credit is due and I would never take credit for taking a photo that I haven't taken. I would like to think that our frink thread is showing appreciation for these photos.

But then again, I learned from you that you got this photo from la Commie's site. I know she'll be happy to replace it with a credited photo.

I miss Comtesse too & her notes with every picture that she posted. I know she's been busy, but I'm sure she's having a lurk here and there. I agree that it would be nice to have details with each pic, but perhaps they aren't 'known' or as readily available (without some required digging).

We are all just mad about the boy and want to see his pictures, period...even if we don't know what 'period' they're from. Perhaps, this can be our assignment for future posts? *returns to Mozness fantasies*

And to you Mel (not Mell) We do try to credit the pictures but like Mell said it's hard to do sometimes cause of people moving them about and such. I try to post pictures that I know where they came from, That last little bunch of still pictures I posted...they were from the Roundhouse gigs...see I know where they came from!

It's not you, it's just me (being overly sensitive about my frink contributions). If anyone wants to know where the pics I post are usually from, they are from flickr and people are free to peruse flickr on their own if they need explicit dates, locations, and photographer's names. I try to include them as best I can, but it can actually take alot of time (especially if I can't just right-click save and I manually have to print screen and crop them myself).
sorry, rant over. I am really going to try to work an honest day now. Let's see how long that lasts.

For me posting photos here is like saying "hey take a look at this", stealing them would be posting them on flickr for instance and saying "i took this photo"

A lot of you may be trying to do the right thing, but every time I ask someone who posts an image from her photobucket or flickr account about the origins of the photo, she NEVER knows! The only person I can remember (La Comtesse) who ever helps me identify the photos doesn't frequent this thread anymore.

Again, I know when it's so easy to save and repost the image, the onus is on the person who first posts it on the Internet to slap a credit on it by embedding it directly into the image, not just put nice little img tags on it because as you pointed out, not all accounts have this feature. And despite people like Mell, so many other people are lazy and feckless about faithfully reproducing the tags.
