WESTIE! Did you go???!!!! I was hoping you were going to call me!

I did. I did. After a lot of delays and setbacks, such as an almost flat tire, waiting for people to come home....I made it there. It's kind of amazing when you don't plan things and they turn out so much better than you think! I really thought my 2 friends and I would be in the back of the venue, cuz I thought it'd be packed in....but it really wasn't when we got there....so we walked around, went up on the roof, enjoyed the lounge area for a while, scanned the place out, figured out the only two places Moz would and could possibly be during the show, but alas he wasn't....at least up until the end of We Are The Fury, there were other people who didn't look of any importance who were sitting where I was positive he would be, one ropped off area at the bottom of the right side of the balcony and then the VIP section right above us...but nothing. No sighting. So after the opening act, we went down to the floor from our back row seating on the right side of the balcony, which was kinda entertaining with the wierdo next to us up there, who I might add lost his lipstick and bracelet that he referred to as his "bling". I tried so hard not to bust up....he had spandex bright pink tights on and a shall over his shoulders, purse, heels and all. Anyways...I was front row, no in front of the barrier the whole freakin' night! it was incredible! I never thought I'd get that close. I kept thinking, omg if this was a Moz show, I'd be in hog heaven!!! I was probably about...oh...3 feet from the stage on Sylvain's side! Amazing. The bassist was kinda cute...no, hot. Steve Conte, hot. David and Sylvain were cute together, their interaction with each other. It was an amazing show! They're still excellent 30 years later....I can see why Moz is so drawn towards them. After it was over, the bodyguard found a pic and gave it to me...I was happy...cuz now I have a red New York Dolls guitar pic with Sam Yaffa's name on it (the hot bassist) I can play my acoustic with.
awww...what a night. so exciting, I'm still on high.

HAHA omg you were at the front?? WOW!!! How cool! CG and I were on the patio for like what seemed like 3 hours that night before the Dolls even came out...wish you could have met up with us!!! Some nutso named Trey Michaels was getting his lipstick all over our faces and he was as high as a kite He was mad because he was supposed to be "on the list" but he wasn't so he had to pay to get in. He told us he did so much coke with David Johansen that DJ must have forgotten to put his name on the list. I'm not advocating drug use, but it was FUNNY!

Anyway, I'm sooo glad you were able to GO!

Yes, it's mind boggling to me how I scored the front row. This was after having to put up with this crazy middle-aged woman who danced like a monkey (how appropriate, lol ) for the first 6 songs then left. I couldn't look at her without laughing...she was a crazy one. Other than her practically dancing on top of us, it was awesome being up there. Pretty tame too. They tried to mosh once or twice...nothing crazy.

Yes, it's mind boggling to me how I scored the front row. We were on the floor for the first 2 songs of We Are the Fury then retreated to the patio the rest of their set. Then when the Dolls came on we were on the floor dead center about 5 people back, but Mell was too short to see and I needed to sit down, so we went to the seats toward the left. There was a girl the crowd was passing around then suddenly they just dropped her on the floor. I thought that was pretty funny. It's like the crowd started to mosh a bit, then they realized "We're to old for this shit." and gave up. I enjoy analyzing the crowd from above. I saw the monkey dancers, and the guy who kept swaying his arms during the ballads. I was really impressed with the music, very raw and nicely harmonic if that makes any sense.
