Pope of Mope Moz in threequel sequel
by Mister Mister

English pop chanteuse-like Morrissey has signed aboard with Sandra Bullock on "Speed 3:London Bridges Falling Down." This is the first picture in a three picture deal signed by the artist back in 1996. Joel Silver spent months trying to woo either Jason Patric (Speed 2:Cruise Control) or Keanu Reeves (Speed) to return to headline the action. Morrissey was approached after Silver watched the video "My Lovelife" by The Morrissey's band.

"His driving skills were a natural!" Silver said. "He looked like he knew what he was doing!!!"

Other names mentioned for the role was Nicholas Cage, The Rock and even female fatale Winona Ryder. Moz's asking price was not confirmed but the video also led Silver to sign Morrissey's drummer Boz Boorer and his bassist Gary Gaz. Drector John "Pigeons fly slow" Woo has decided to helm the production after filming the John Travolta vehicle "Timesweeper."

It is reported that "Speed 3" will follow Special Agent Simon Flint (Morrissey) leading a team to disarm a double decker bus loaded with a strange device. The device will activate if the double decker bus goes below 35mph (Mph, inches and feet will be utilized in the AMERICAN production). According to Kientai Hulme (Big Ass, Johnboy the movie), screenwriter, lt loose at a StarCOn 1999 convention that the bomb will cause the bus to spin out of control and kill everyone in the Harrod's department store.

Sandra Bullock will play the unsuspecting tourist on board that will eventually fall in love with Agent Flint. Boz Boorer signed on to play Communications Officer Gunn Magnum while 80's relic Billy Idol will play the sneering villian. Idol hopes that this film will launch his much delayed acting career (The Doors, The Wedding Singer).

No one seems particularly worried that the premise has holes nor the fact that the problem could be solved by evacuating the department store.

"Movie audiences are dumb as my left nut," Silver said. "Besides this movie will make money because Morrissey brings in a lot of weight with them Japs, they love that fruitycakes (referring to Morrissey)."

Morrissey makes his debut as the sensitive action star next year. It is also rumored that Dolph Lundgren is linked with the action movie. Morrissey had no comment on the role nor any information on his decision for the other two films. Variety has learned, however, that Morrissey did audition last week for a role on "The A-Team 2002."
